This is the front of the box for the set. It has the limited edition branding on it. There’s details as to the number of the pieces and recommended age as well.

This is the top of the box. Its pretty wide.

This is the back of the box. It shows the chicks hatching out of the Easter egg.

LEGO 40527 Easter Chicks 2022 Set Contents

Dumping out the contents from the box, you get two small instructions booklets. One is to build the chicks while the other is to build the egg. Its interesting that LEGO separated the instructions booklets this time. Usually, they put everything together especially for a small set like this.

There are five numbered bags which would make building and sorting the pieces a lot easier.

LEGO 40527 Easter Chicks 2022 Building Process

You first start building the chicks and they are in different numbered bags.

The first chick that you build is the smaller dark yellow one first. You can adjust its wings. The eyes are printed and are not stickers which is nice.

Here are the spare extra pieces for bag number one which is for the small dark yellow chick.

The second numbered bag will build the lighter larger yellow chick. It has has adjustable wings and printed eyes as well.

The build then continues with the Easter egg building process. This build will use three numbered bags.

Bag three builds the bottom of the Easter egg first. It has blue and white colors on the outside.

You can then continue with bag number four which builds the top of the egg.

Bag five adds on extra decorations on the top section of the egg. You can get lots of tiny pieces too. We’re assuming these tiny pieces are meant as food for the chicks.

Complete LEGO 40527 Easter Chicks 2022 Set

Here is the complete set with the chicks each on half of the egg shell.

The chicks can go on either egg shell as well.

This is the complete set with the Easter egg closed (two egg shells combined). There’s not really any locking mechanism for the top part and the bottom part of the complete egg. If you turn it sideways, the egg will split.

Overall Thoughts

LEGO 40527 Easter Chicks is a neat set for the Easter holiday. The build took us about 45 minutes to build and sort. Each of the chicks are cute and the feature where they can be placed on the egg shell to show that they are hatching is cool.
