Estimated shipping on 16 series 8 packs comes to 147.87...seems like a scam.
Re: Sideshow Toys $20 off $45 min purchase expires Apr 16!
Wow, they used to have a larger selection...like 3x that amount. that sucks.

They seem to want to charge you just over $9 PER FIGURE to ship, and they make you enter in a valid credit card number before you even get to the "checkout total" screen so I will let this deal pass.
What shipping company would charge $9 to ship one little minifig that weighs less than half an ounce? Sideshow, indeed!

I just got off the phone w/ them and they said their shipping calculator is archaic and it assumes everything is a big item. They said that it's only an estimate, so she conacted the shipping department and they said it will only be $9 and change for shipping to my locaiton. I placed the order as I've never had problems w/ them before. :)

Thanks for the info...but unfortunately as you HAVE to authorize your card for the amount estimated (IE almost 200$ for 16 minifigs) I will be skipping this deal.
Re: Sideshow Toys $20 off $45 min purchase expires Apr 16!
i asked if it was a pre-authorization too b/c that would suck for it to freeze for a day, but she told me it's not a pre-authorization.

Sorry about not catching that shipping glitch. I didn't bother to go very far in the order process.
I've ordered a few things from Sideshow over the years and have never had problems before. They charge a very high premium for their products, but their service and customer commitment has been all good in my experience.
Hmmm, free shipping on the Jango Fett Bronze statue...it's only $4200 (and that's a discount price!).

I shipped a minifigure last week, it was 7/8th of an ounce and cost two stamps (I don't know how much a stamp is, 46 cents?)Wheeefun wrote:They seem to want to charge you just over $9 PER FIGURE to ship, and they make you enter in a valid credit card number before you even get to the "checkout total" screen so I will let this deal pass.

$9? You're getting hosed. USPS First class mail in a padded envelope would cost less than $3.00.Gooker1 wrote:I just got off the phone w/ them and they said their shipping calculator is archaic and it assumes everything is a big item. Sideshow Collectibles website is a RIP-OFF
They charge min. $8-9 PER item no matter how small and force you to used a credit card to just register and see the shipping cost.
Also have a $30 certificate that they would not let use when they had a free shipping promo a few weeks ago,
they won't let anyone use the $30 certificate (from Avengers Collector Blu-Ray disc) along with any promo they might be running.

There is a considerable difference in costs when shipping, say, a heavy Boba Fett resin statue as compared to 16 LEGO CMFs. Scam!

Maybe that's how they can ship the bronze Jango Fett statue for free, by creating profit sending LEGO minifigs.
