Re: [USA] Borders 50% off one item in-store 11/24 only
Great response time....this just landed in my email also ;)
Re: Border's 40% off one item in B&M store only
I got the gc promo previously too. Still thinking about the plus program. This means I am getting better than 50% than msrp. Just need to get to the store before everything got sold out.
Re: Border's in-store only coupon roundup (33-50% off)
MOD NOTE: I've renamed this topic to "Border's in-store only coupon roundup (33-50% off)" to avoid confusion, as we've basically been updating this topic every time a new Border's coupon shows up, as opposed to starting new topics for each one (which is the best way to go, I think).

Borders markup is typically in the 13-30% range, so you can only do better than 50% MSRP with this coupon on a couple of sets unless you're cashing in a personal shopping day and/or have other discounts.natelite wrote:Still thinking about the plus program. Otherwise, you're looking at 51-59% off MSRP for the majority of sets (35-43% if you don't have Plus), which is still an incredible deal.
If you're seriously looking at the Plus membership, break even using the 33% coupons works out to be $180/yr (which gets you $300 of sets at regular Borders' pricing).
If you can make use of the Borders Bucks they give out for signing up, break even for the first year drops to $90 ($150 of sets at BRP) for the current $10 promo, and $135 ($225 BRP) if they switch back to $5.
Not sure if this was the case at all stores or just mine, but during the 40% off any one toy promo a few weeks back, a lot of the higher priced sets were magically replaced by a wall of battle packs.natelite wrote:Just need to get to the store before everything got sold out.
Now I suppose they could have just been selling out of everything else, but the day after that coupon expired, most of the the battle packs disappeared, with the shelves suddenly restocked with Hogwarts Expresses and Slave Is.
Sadly, this is all academic for me: no more LEGO purchases until next year. :(
Re: Border's in-store only coupon roundup (33-50% off)
Yay 50% off so it would be somewhere around an actual 40% off lego prices. :D
Re: Border's in-store only coupon roundup (33-50% off)
50% off? That's wonderful, probably the best coupon offer this year. Even with the markup, that's a fairly good discount! :)

I don't dare brave my Borders on Friday to confirm, but all the big sets had magically disappeared again today, replaced by an abundance of sub-$30 sets (Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter) and more CMFv2s than you could shake a stick at.GuaranteedUnity wrote:Not sure if this was the case at all stores or just mine, but during the 40% off any one toy promo a few weeks back, a lot of the higher priced sets were magically replaced by a wall of battle packs.natelite wrote:Just need to get to the store before everything got sold out.

The latter was more surprising because it looked like they had actually gotten a huge shipment of them, with CMFv2 boxes littered all over the store, and a big ol' bucket of them in the line for the registers:-

Re: Border's 40% off one item in B&M store only
guess you didn't read my first sentence. i got in on the gc promo. stack another 16.67% on, and i easily go under the 50% for most sets. slave 1, hogwart express = 51% off. not including the 10% plus program. stack that on, and i easily exceed that with like 59% if not more.GuaranteedUnity wrote:Borders markup is typically in the 13-30% range, so you can only do better than 50% MSRP with this coupon on a couple of sets unless you're cashing in a personal shopping day and/or have other discounts.natelite wrote:Still thinking about the plus program. A 50% in-store coupon was included in today's newspaper, it's good Friday through Sunday. Don't know if it's available online.

I got the two coupons in the newspaper today. I don't see anywhere that you have to be a Borders Rewards member. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. :D

Another promo period that doesn't appear to have a 40% coupon, but...
33% off - http://www.bordersmedia.com/coup/33main20101129.html, exp 12/02
- Effectively 39% off with a personal shopping day or a Rewards Plus account.
- Effectively 45% off with a personal shopping day AND a Rewards Plus account.
