LEGO Star Wars Constraction Buildable Figures (75111 Darth Vader & 75110 Luke Skywalker)

Post by Toys N Bricks » Sat Feb 14, 2015 2:17 pm

LEGO Star Wars will see a new theme known as LEGO Constraction. In other words, they are buildable characters from Star Wars (similar to Ultrabuild Super Heroes).

75111 LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader & 75110 LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker are two new sets being revealed. There will be other buildable Constraction LEGO Star Wars sets. Price range will be from $19.99 to $29.99. The sets will be available for sale beginning September 2015.

Maybe I just don't get it, but what is the point of these? They look awful.

I get that people love their Star Wars Lego, but these just look like really wonky action figures. I'd rather spend half the money of one of these and get a decent, detailed action figure.

Just my opinion.

The Darth Vader one doesn't look bad but the Luke one doesn't look that great. I'm also not sure about the price point. It seems a little high for what you are getting.

Wow these look really bad. Does lego feel it's market share is too small, and wants to get into the cheap action figure market as well?

I think is more the fact that:

1) New SW movie coming out may equal kids interest in anything Star Wars. Taking into consideration that the movie will be around Christmas time anyway.
2) Let's make them similar to Bionicle, since it's "new" for today's kids and they are Star Wars!
2) SW = Disney, big pocket company so why not right? Let's experiment and see what happens.

Worst case scenario, similar to what happened with the Super Hero line, they don't sell and will be on clearance next year. Chump change lost, no biggie.

Darth Vader doesn't look too unnatural in Bionicle form because he is suppose to be more machine than human. The problem with sticking to one building technique like the Bionicle ball joints is that for non skeletal more natural sculpting - it looks unnatural. Luke Skywalker is suppose to be more human except for his mechanical hand - so his Bionicle hips don't look nature enough. All black Technic friction ball joints might have been a better hip joint for Luke.

I can't wait to see the Slave Leia.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Nice to know I'm not the only one who dislikes these. They are downright dreadful!

I have lost all hope for this line except for the Boba Fett.

Mark Hamill is getting old, looks like he needs a new hip. Seriously, this toy needs a hip.

It looks like a weird cyborg.

These are awful. I remember when Bionicle was $5.99 and the price point for a single posable figure is $20 minimum? Lol. They're basically those Castle figures they had a few years back (my little brothers loved them) but with a licensing theme. I don't see how anyone would spend that amount of money on these.
