50% off or better Kroger Creator sets
Stopped by my local Kroger today and found several GREAT deals!
$9.99 sale price / $19.99 retail /Furry Creatures 31021 (with cat and mouse build)
$5.00 sale price / $19.99 retail / Forest Animals 31019 (with monkey build)
either 8.99 or 11.99 sale price $17.99 retail/ Twinblade Adventures 31020 (plane)
$3.25 sale price / $12.99 retail /Sunset Speeder 31017 (small orange car)
There was a few other small city sets with 25% off prices or less. Star wars army builders were on the same display but were regular price.
These were not in the LEGO aisle. They were in the next aisle over where they normally display season items (recently the Halloween aisle).
Prices were NOT marked. They were on a circular display in the middle of the aisle with other toys such as NERF and Barbie. There was a sign that said something about Christmas deals but it wasn't until I started scanning them that I noticed the great prices on some of them.
I was able to get 3x of the Forest animals and 3x of the Furry Animals for Christmas presents. I had previously considered purchasing the Furry Animals set on Amazon for $18. I'm glad that I waited. Buying 3 of each of these 2 sets I only paid $45 plus tax while regular retail would have been $120 plus tax! I saved $75!
My Kroger is slightly larger than the Kroger in my hometown. Not sure if its called a super Kroger or something but since they remodeled they added things like a small furniture and toy section.
I hope others can find the deal as well.
Good luck!

Re: 50% off or better Kroger Creator sets
Thanks for pointing this out StClair. I usually don't check these stores until mid-December to see what they have so I would have missed the early sale prices. I had to go by a couple of stores, but I finally found one that had the Creator Furry Creatures, and Forest Animals sets for $9.99 each. They had quite a few others, but they were only 10% off so I held off on those. Great price for some Christmas presents.
Re: 50% off or better Kroger Creator sets
Thanks for the response Bystander! I thought it was a great deal. I actually stopped by this evening and purchased 2x more of the Forest Animals sets since they scanned $5.00 even though I like the Furry Creatures set ($9.99) slightly more. They will make either great gifts or fun building competitions with friends (Limited parts single set challenges).
Did the Forest Animals set scan $9.99 instead of $5 for you?

Re: 50% off or better Kroger Creator sets
Both of the original sets I got were marked and scanned at $9.99. At another store I stopped at they would not scan, so they gave them to me for $6.49 each, which was the same price as the sunset speeder I was also buying.
Re: 50% off or better Kroger Creator sets
Thanks for the quick reply. I was just curious how much they were varying in prices from location to location.Bystander wrote:Both of the original sets I got were marked and scanned at $9.99. Re: 50% off or better Kroger Creator sets
I found these deals back in early November. I was surprised to find that they still have the same prices at my local Kroger (as of yesterday Dec 3rd). They no longer had the Twinblade set or the Forest Animals in stock but they still had several of...
$9.99 sale price / $19.99 retail /Furry Creatures 31021 (with cat and mouse build)
$3.25 sale price / $12.99 retail /Sunset Speeder 31017 (small orange car)
I'm guessing they are offering Christmas deals and clearing out some of the Creator Sets for the new Creator Sets that are already appearing in some stores. Guessing they are still in stock because the prices are NOT marked and I had to find a price scanner to check prices both times.

Re: 50% off or better Kroger Creator sets
Thanks Bystander! Leaving for Kroger now to see what is left
Update... none of Bystander's deals were found at my store Maybe in the future. Even a few of the sets that were heavily discounted over Christmas were found on the regular shelf and scanned at full price. The scanner even still referred to some of them as CMAS ____ . I pulled many that I was interested in from the shelf and scanned them just in case that were not on Bystander's list just in case. No luck. I needed an excuse to leave the house for a minute. Maybe others will have better luck. Thanks for the report Bystander!

One of mine had the X-Wing at that price but none of the others scanned. All the rest of the stores were regular price.911diecast wrote:Picked up a few of these for 75% off. $2.49 each.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
Re: 50% off or better Kroger Creator sets
Seems like they did a bait & switch. They were 50% off & week later back to full price. i posed the question why...... nobody could give me an answer. The tag said until 5/24/2015. Some other sporadic items in toys still had these tags, but none Lego. Need to find out why.....

Just be careful. If they are a Union store the teamsters will come to your house and strong arm you.Kodiak10 wrote:Seems like they did a bait & switch.
