Post by Toys N Bricks » Wed Oct 08, 2014 6:07 pm

LEGO Architecture fans would be happy to know that two new sets are coming this January! There will be the Lincoln Memorial from Washington DC, as well as the Flatiron Building from New York. Thanks to just2good for the images.

Will the Lincoln Memorial has the statue of Lincoln. (I don't think so from the look of it).

It's kind of defeat the purpose to have a Lincoln memorial w/out the statue....

For the Lincoln Memorial, it should have been a larger scale and they could have used a white microfig with a 1x1 white tile stacked on a 1x1 white plate to have some illusion of the Lincoln statue. (That piece is still in production (in the right color too) as seen in Trevi Fountain 21020.) It should have been built like Brandenburg Gate using 1x1 round bricks for columns. I only like the Architecture sets that are similar to the mini modular scale.

Although I just noticed the TRU promos use 6x8 plates and the series 1 used 8x8 plates with a generally taller building. Original mini modulars retailed for $80 with five 8x8 buildings with a piece count of 1356. TRU 2014 series claimed to be a $20 value per building at 6x8. Total pieces of all TRU 2014 series is 664 for "$80". Someone mentioned they are really a $10 set, and they are right. (I'm still a sucker for them.)

Are we sure there isn't at least a white CMF trophy inside the Lincoln Memorial? Even still, it should be sitting, not standing.

Too bad they didn't have the Flatiron Building set available for the opening of the new store this weekend in the Flatiron District...

I agree! Even the Brandenburg Gate has some hose pieces on top for the chariot. However, I will pick up the Flatiron Building.
