Target Easter 2014 Polybags

Post by atmail35 » Sat Feb 22, 2014 1:08 pm

I found in Target's Easter Aisle:

30113 Friends Stephanie's Bakery Stand...$5.59 yikes  dcpi 086022968
30187 Creator Fast Car...$3.29 dcpi 204001349

I wonder why the Friends one is priced so much higher?

I was shocked by the price difference, too. The piece count is similar, so why the huge price jump? Maybe it's because of the specialty bricks?

Yeah, I saw that here as well. Although the Friends poly was cute, I passed. Too expensive.

I think at the Target I went to it was $5.49 and $3.49.

I saw the Friends one and went "Cute!" and thought it was $4... then saw the price. I can get the Lemonade Stand with a mini doll, scooter, cookies and mugs that has 100 more pieces for only $4.50 more.

It's because everyone is waiting until they are 50% to 70% off after the holiday and Target doesn't want to lose any more money on Friends polybags. :shh:
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

If I can, I buy one before the holiday (the Valentines ones were on sale the week before), then see what I can pick up afterwards for birthday party favors, gifts, etc. But I do that with the creator ones, too.

This time, no Friends polybag until they go on clearance. Might as well get the Lemonade Stand like Brick & Blue said!

saw them at local Target yesterday, the friends poly was marked down to $4.99(still too high).
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

I too saw these in my Target store, they are in the Easter section not the Lego section.

This seems like another one of Target experiments in pricing. They actually did this a year or two ago and it failed as well but they kept price on the polybag at $4.99 I don't recall which one it was but it certainly wasn't worth that price at the time and still today it's the same.

Hopefully another retailer will eventual get this and it will be lower.

The problem is people collect these little bags and even at $5.50 they will be worth $10 online in a month. The other issue is that the people are incredibly stupid. They see these things and go "Oh! I'll get that for _____ for Easter" and not even know they are getting ripped off because they didn't bother to go in LEGO section.

The bakery stand will be free with any lego friends purchase in April so you will be better off getting it then.

Glad to see at least some LEGO is in the Easter section. Went last week hoping for one of the new Star Wars polybags and all I saw were two Best Lock polybags (A military vehicle and a Stargate spaceship).

That is a better deal.

I noticed my store all so repriced them at $4.99. I'll have to return my first purchase of 2 bags.

Looks like at least one of our local stores has changed to the $4.99 price as well. Still not great, but better.

My target just got them in last week. We are much slower getting them. But they are usually gone fast during clearance. Priced not to sell. $5.49 for friends set and $3.99 for the car.
