Re: Barnes and noble
They won't let me add coupons at my B&N on BOGOHO purchases... But good advice, thanks.

First the coupon knocks down the highest-price item by 20%, then the BOGO takes 50% off whichever item is now lower. Then your membership takes 10% off of the total. In theory, if you can find a $100 set and an $80 set, your total should be $108 + tax, which ain't bad.
Good to know. Sadly my membership coupon was only for 15% off and not 20
Re: Barnes and noble
I really need to get over to B&N and try this. I have a 20% member coupon. Thanks for the reports that at least some stores are allowing stacking.

Excellent tip! I didn't believe it at first, but spent a couple of hours crunching numbers and lining up sets and came up with:zak001 wrote:If you're a member using a coupon, remember that you get the maximum savings by selecting sets that differ slightly in price. Using a 20% coupon:
Battle of Helm's Deep and Vampyre Castle (or any $130 and $100 combo becomes $104 and $100 pre-BOGO50)
Using a 15% coupon:
Epic Dragon Battle and Vampyre Castle (or any $120 and $100 combo becomes $102 and $100 pre-BOGO50)
All around a very nice sale if you have well stocked B&N stores nearby.
Re: Barnes and noble
I picked up a Friends Adventure Camper, which is $29.95 at B&N, but with an MSRP of $34.99. And the Creator Small Cottage.
$29.95 at 10% off, $26.96 and 20% off that from the member coupon, is $21.56
$24.95 at 10% off, $22.45 and 50% off the second toy is $11.23
$32.78 for two sets with an msrp of $60 is a savings of 45%
They didn't have any big sets, besides Olivia's House and we have two of those.
Overall I'm happy, the coupon and member discount worked without any hassle at all.
Oh and it appears that my B&N is open on Easter Sunday from 12-6, so worth calling to see if your area stores are open tomorrow.

Re: Barnes and noble
I found a bunch of TMNT and used an Xmas $25 gift card to get all the sets at around 30% off! Even picked up the pair of 6860 Batcaves which worked out to $50 each. Stupidly, unforgivably, I forgot to use the 15% off coupon I had in my back pocket.
Re: Barnes and noble
Anyone know why some got 20% coupons?
Re: Barnes and noble
I think it's because of B&N membership
Re: Barnes and noble
Looks like I'll be getting a B&N membership this week!

Re: Barnes and noble
FWIW I have a B&N membership and didn't get the 20% coupon, only 15%. I can tell you that I've definately saved more than the cost of the membership over the past 9 months.

Cool. Just making sure it wasn't some fluke that I got a 15% coupon and not the 20%.
Great deals this past weekend for them.

You were better off pairing the $130/$120 sets and the $100/$100 sets together.brixter wrote:Excellent tip! You would've gotten half off the $120 and $100 sets.
Re: Barnes and noble
Indeed they would have. Combining them this way is $12 more. There was a false assumption that the 15/20% off coupons were taken off first, but that's not how they work. It's taken off last, after all other discounts.kiiaal wrote:You were better off pairing the $130/$120 sets and the $100/$100 sets together.brixter wrote:Excellent tip!
