I always wanted to get the Ninja's when I was younger, and now that their making their appearance again, I wont pass this up! Awesome Minifigs, and a new take on playing with Lego and Cards.

Re: 2011 LEGO NinjaGo
The colors seem a bit off. I'm also wondering if they will work any other Ninja characters into this series.

Everyone knows the most famous ninja wears orange. (you know, Naruto)legitimatealex wrote:The colors seem a bit off.
Re: 2011 LEGO NinjaGo
if they stick with dark colors, i might be tempted to get, otherwise it's another pass.
it'll be a great theme to get the more obscure colors if that's the case! dark purple, dark orange, etc. yum... you can also use the torsos as robes if these are the same as the CMF version. :D

Maybe they will be, but if LEGO is trying to make this an original theme or venture then chances are they will make everything new. It will be quite a surprise though, whatever they go with.natelite wrote:if they stick with dark colors, i might be tempted to get, otherwise it's another pass.

Re: 2011 LEGO NinjaGo
This sounds interesting, but I'm not hopeful on what the price per piece will be.
Re: 2011 LEGO NinjaGo
Nor, given how the game mechanics of their boardgames is rather luckluster, am I hopeful it will be a good game.Mantisking wrote:This sounds interesting, but I'm not hopeful on what the price per piece will be.
Really the world Boardgame revolution started in Germany about 10 years ago....why didn't Lego turn to the German style game mechanics to make their games. Most kids can learn "Ticket to ride", "Settlers of Catan," "Carcasonne," "Bohnanza," and the like; but the possible strategies are complex enough to keep adults interested for hours.

They did get Reiner Knizia to design one of the games, Ramses Pyramid I believe.NIGELTTF wrote:Nor, given how the game mechanics of their boardgames is rather luckluster, am I hopeful it will be a good game.

The board games you list are johnny come latelies, the real strategy board game revolution began in the good old USofA with MB's game master games and Avalon hill games.
Re: 2011 LEGO NinjaGo
Actually yeah I know Stuff like Squadleader. Avalon Hills stuff tended to obnoxiously rules heavy, god knows I playtested for them. They emerged over 40 years ago as an evolution from lead soldiers stuff and military colleges. One of which ended up becomeing Dungeons & Dragons(a revolution in and of itself.) I like the Gamemaster series, but only Axis and Allies and Shogun/Samuri Swords seemed to have any staying power.Asterios wrote:NIGELTTF wrote:Nor, given how the game mechanics of their boardgames is rather luckluster, am I hopeful it will be a good game.Mantisking wrote:This sounds interesting, but I'm not hopeful on what the price per piece will be.

But all of it had pages and pages of rules. And often pages of errata. Again I enjoyed playing some, 1830 in particular.
What I'm talking about is the revolution of making simple games that were rules light enough for 8 - 10 year olds, yet had enough strategies to be a really interesting game for adults. That is an accomplishment.

Just noticed this line - I think if you're a ninja and you're famous, you're doing it wrong ;)Brickbuilder0937 wrote:Everyone knows the most famous ninja wears orange. (you know, Naruto)
More info from 1000Steine.de regarding NinjaGo:
Ninjago!
Ne mix of Beyblades and trading card game. On a disk are characters with different weapons that you can let them fight against each other. The disc seems to have put themselves in rotation and there are a variety of new weapons in the sets. Including a large bone, katana swords, spears in damask-look, a short chain and something like a hammer fight. Lego praises the parts as low price products, and I think € 9.99 per figure with accessories quite pricey. Maybe I just got too little money for something. 12 different characters, there to purchase individually. I like to imagine, if necessary by one.
There are then also suitable sets:
2260 Ice Dragon € 19.99
- Exo-Force meets Ninja
2263 Turbo Shredder € 29.99
- Creepy
2505 Garmadons fortress € 69.99
- I hope there is soon pictures, so you can see the stuff too!
2504 Spinjitzu Training € 39.99
- The name says it all!
Ninja outpost in 2516 € 4.99
2258 Ninja ambush € 6.99
2259 Skeleton Chopper € 14.99
- Noting that Lego has here provided a skeleton with a helmet, which is strongly reminiscent of an army helmet.

Saw that too. Looks like they have new waist pieces for the skeletal opponents. The asian style dragon set looks really cool.Asterios wrote:you also see the new Skeleton helmet, that is just wicked.
