Well, we're already speculating on what could be in future series
over here so I'd keep it there, and stick the 'hard news' in here.
That said, I'll go so far as to speculate on release dates. It looks as though series 2 is going to be available in Europe come September, with an appearance in the States probably beginning in October. Since series 1 showed up in the US in July, that gives us 3 months between releases (which makes sense, putting them out quarterly). Therefore, I would say we're not going to see series 3 until the new year, January or February, at the earliest.

Aw no. I don't want to buy an entire case just to get all 16 minifigures. I know its suppose to be random but to be a completist, I do not want to buy duplicates. Does anyone have pictures for series 3? Maybe I'll just avoid the entire series.

No, there's no pics for series 3. This is really the first news about it.
I am actually enthused by this news. I was psyched to get into some "Collect 'em Trade 'em" action with other LEGO enthusiasts (hell, I suggested starting a trading thread here!), but once the barcode cheatsheet came out, I succumbed to my weakness and used it to great effect. I'll probably do the same for series 2
. But I look forward to trading with all of you once series 3 comes out!

This will be a good thing for those people who can find cases but bad for the people that can't.
I also want to point out that it is also stated the popularity of Series 1 has caught LEGO by surprise, meaning in the future they will adjust and hopefully produce and ship more out there.

Guess we all will have to do some sort of trading if we don't want the same minifigures. Oh well, at least it makes it a bit more random and interesting not knowing whats in the bag.

I have no doubt in my mind that some people will complain but in the end I might just be more happy to shell out more money than trading them online. Here's to hoping that series 3 is the best series ever! :D

I'm hoping that as the bar codes go away do do the 5-bag limits! Both together will drive up their sales if they manage them correctly!

The only problem with a limit at a store, is you can take your family of 4 and buy 20.
Leave and go back in and buy 20 more.
repeat until they have no more.
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

I'm OK with this. I think they should be available to anyone. And Lego's policy of a five-bag limit at $4.95 shipping isn't fair.

I'm with you TClone. The only way to make it worth it is to get it up to 25 or 20 to get the $5 off coupon. Then it still only covers part of the shipping. But when you can't get them at your local Toys r Us because they are in the boonies what are you supposed to do?

Like i mentioned this
here, the 5 bag limit isn't fair. But if they remove the limit, people order a whole bunch and then they won't have any instock at all (like now).

Klaus-Dieter also had the opportunity to see what CMFs3 has in store for us, via his sneak-peek at the 2011 Retailer's Catalog. From his post over at

The minifigures from this series look absolutely amazing!
Minifigure Series 3:
-fisher with hinge and fish
-Ferrari driver (red torso) with helmet
-mummy with pan
-? sumo wrestler/karate guy (yellow torso and pants) with trophy
-? female dancer
-samurai knight with removeable armor and samurai sword
-Hawaii girl (green skirt print) with two green rattles
-baseball player with baseball bat
-elf with bow and big buckler
-Native American chief with lance
-alien with space gun
-? male singer with ? micro and ? recorder
-? doctor/surgeon with suitcase and ?
-gorilla with banana
-snowboarder with snowboard
-???
Sorry for that I don't remember the one remaining minfig.
Let's discuss!
Btw:
1. Series 3 will already be released in January 2011.
2. There will be a series 4, too, but there were unluckily no pics of it in the retailer's catalogue.
3. Series 4 will be released in April 2011.

At least you got to see series 1, they never got it in my area. The only way I got some was to order off S@H and then I got 5 spacemen. I hope series 2 has a better and wider distribution.

Would 5 Crash Test Dummies suit you better? That's what I got.
