- that they didn't start the sale at 12:01 EST or 12:01 PST (instead some random time)

however I am pleasantly surprised that they kept their "sale" prices active, so we're looking at Lego MSRP instead of their inflated regular price.
Check again, lol. It was only a matter of time, sadly....
Oops I posted my message before I read yours (and others).

I can't believe they did that!! I was just working on another order when I thought "hey these aren't matching what I have on my spreadsheet".

What a joke... first let's start the sale late, then let's include more exclusions than what we say in the flyer/website, then we'll raise our prices back up to an inflated price.

Really disgusting tactics. I don't know why I even keep entertaining the idea of giving Toysrus my hard earned cash.

Sniff! I got a TRU gift card over an Amazon one yesterday from my yearly Coinstar visit just for this sale.

So what usually happens for online orders? Do they cancel them or honor them?

I have seen on the forums before that overlapping sales happen quite often with them but this is the first time I had advance notice and had an order ready to place early in the morning. You would think if it was unintentional it would not happen so many times.

They usually honor them, the only time Ive seen anything cancelled for the whole overlapping sale thing is for huge orders that are obviously for resellers

In all fairness, i think them going back to their jacked-up price is/should be expected from all of us.
Everything else is just the typical crap from TRU. I don't think they can possibly sink any lower. lol

Drax44 wrote:Quick note on trying this deal at the store. Just stopped by my local TRU in NJ, and while YMMV, this store's in-store prices were ridiculous. The Malevolence was on the shelf at $164.99, Jabba's Palace $149.99, etc. Was highly annoyed that I wasted my time as my kids wanted to put the Vampyre Castle together today for Halloween. It was $119.99. Ended up coming home, and ordering off the website, where all the prices were standard MSRP.
Most TRU brick-and-mortar stores will price-match the online price if you ask. (of course, now that the TRU tax is back for the on-line prices, this isnt worth as much.) next time, maybe.

Got a Dynamic Duo Funhouse, Fire transporter, Republic starfighter, Y-wing, Lego city truck, Robbers Hideout, 3 gray baseplates, 2 clone trooper battlepacks, 8 green baseplates, and 4 blue baseplates (all separate transactions so I would get the B2G1F deal)...now hopefully when i go pick them up in a couple of hours I wont get some sort of bs that TRU just loves lol
I picked up some baseplates as well although I noticed it said Limit 5. Not sure what they're going to do when I go to the store to pick them up. My plan is to buy them with the B2G1F and then pick up my web orders.

Let us know if you get the BS

I woke up at 6am and pulled the trigger, AFTER I finished yelling because the modulars weren't included. I then bought 2 9526 at 89 each and then 9497, 9499 AND the Ghost Train before they were marked up. The only way TRU is going to feel the pain is if we all boycott them all together.

Had thought about building up my train set sets although being a max/min'er I was having a hard time figuring out what to pick up to make the $179/$159/$149 (7939/3677/7938) sets be worthwhile on a B2G1. Since two out of three went back to over $20 MSRP, it makes my choice a lot easier. Wait!

Called in and talked with rep. She said best they could do was 15% off each of the $359 Star Wars items bringing them to $306 each. They also record your info when you call. They also give you $20 off toward shipping.
Still limit 1 SSD but can buy 2 DS.

Why not, if 1,000 people filed such a complaint, perhaps TRU would stop with the false advertising.

Saying in big, bold letters "All Lego B2G1 Free" then having small print is pretty slimy, but when the small print isn't even correct, that is illegal, the Federal Trade Commission rules over such things, file a complaint with them instead of the BBB. Or both.

hey ryanb was your purchase online or in store? I can't seem to get the Buy 2 get 3rd free promo to work online.

akarian2003 did you try to get the offer and all they did was give you the 15%?

Thanks for the info.

The main page should be updated with the latest info, because most everything listed is NOT included.

@echobanzai:
yep. She wouldn't budge on the deal. I thought $306 per was better than nothing.
I was in a hurry and didn't have time to argue.

I actually called the order in ;0) think I got lucky with a nice rep. I was transferred from whomever "answered" the call to a "specialist"..

Did three orders. Not great deals, but ~20% off overall after tax.

I checked online in the hopes of scoring the 2 winter sets but the bakery didn't show up and the post office wasn't included. Ended up going to the store but the prices are so inflated on some of the sets ($149 for Jabba?) that it just wasn't worth it. The Y wing was like $54 but seemed like the only good deal. Ended up going through a fresh box of series 8 and found all the figures my son wanted plus the Aztec from series 7. So $13.50 for 6 figures isn't so bad.
