OK, front paged...my apologies, but my kid started school this week and I've been "off the grid" for a day or two.

Does anyone know how long this offer is good for? I looked at the TRU details, but didn't see an end date.

Bad decision IMO. Definately won't be able to get any of the "Hot Sellers" now... wonder how long it will be before Slickdeals cleans out everything good. Ah well, do what ya gotta do.

It works, just have to add/remove stuff until it triggers it.
Needs to be right qty of items and at right prices.

$500 is NOT the magic number. It's possible to get $40 off $150, B1G1 50% off and even more discounts while spending much less than $500. For example: Add 3x 4643, 3x 5767 and 3x 5770 to your cart (All $40 sets, for a total of $360 before discounts). You'll get one for free ($40 off $150), one for $20 (B1G1 50% off), one for $30 ($10 off $50) AND the free trolley, plus six for regular price. Total = $290.

That's 19.5% off (less than that after factoring in shipping and taxes).

My point is, just play with the sets you want to purchase and see what happens. The coding is screwed up AND complex.

The key appears to buy enough items in the cart (at least 10 it seems). If you go higher priced for the bongo, get filler small items. that'll maximize your savings. remember bongo50 is best maximized when matching high priced items (eg two $150 items). The $40 off goes on the first item, 50% off on the second item. The rest are fillers :)

The trick is that each item can only count for one discount. This means that the two highest priced items will be used for the BOGO 50% and after that items will count towards the $40 off $150, $25 of $100, etc.

This did not work for me until I went over $500.

I had in my cart:

Fire Brigade
Grand Imporium
(added the HP bag set)

I then added Millenium Falcon. Nothing
I then added Hoth Base. Nothing
I then added SuperCar, which set the total over $500, in which the $25 off was applied to the Millenium Falcon.

I removed the Hoth Base, bringing the total under $500, and I no longer received $25 off the MF.

Fire: 150-40=110
Total: 220

With the BOGO its 150 + 75 =225.

$5 in savings only but still.

10 items didn't work, over $500 didn't work, the 3 of the three sets mentioned didn't work, removing the HP trolley didn't work. It doesn't stack.

It appears the website was changed once again and it no longer stacks. This has to have been done in the last couple hours, because it was certainly stacking this morning.

I'm not surprised - whoever runs the TRU website is pretty bad at it!

Edit: If you look at each individual set, the $40 off $150 and other two deals are no longer listed. It looks like those are over and it's now just B1G1 50% off active (plus the free trolley). There were a few hours of overlap - and now that's done.

I did it in-store. They didn't care it was .01 off and the lady just took it off manually.

I think I have it figured it out. The discounts are applied in the order BOGOHO, $40, $25, then $10. BOGOHO is applied against the two most expensive items, which are then excluded from the remaining calculations. Then the remaining items are eligible for the $10-25-40 deal (though the actual discount is applied to the most expensive, non-discounted item - your BO item in the BOGOHO). It seems to loop around so that once you reach a $40 discount, you can then start over for the $10 or $25 without having to place a second order. But since the free shipping only goes up to $20, it may be better to just place the second order.
So an order might look like this:

149.99
149.99 ($75 off)

99.99
99.99 ($40 off, shows up on the first $149.99 item)
(the $49.98 extra doesn't carry over)

49.99
49.99
2.99 ($25 off, shows up on first $99.99 item)

But then I removed a ton of stuff and the coding suddenly changed, and my MMV + CMF that previously rang up as BOGOHO now comes up as the $25 off that I wanted. After ordering and checking out, I put the same items back in the cart and poof, my MMV + CMF rings according to the BOGOHO deal again, instead of $25 off. Really weird.

And just as I was about to hit the 'Submit' button on this ever growing post, they seem to have removed the 40-25-10 deal altogether. It was supposed to run through tomorrow, so I guess the coders are working on it.
