[US] Toys R Us BOGO50 Sale, Sep 9-10
I just got an email annoucing another TRU BOGO50 sale coming up this weekend. Would be great if this stacked with the $40 off $150. But I suspect that it wont, meaning that the $40 off $150 probably ends tonight. Free HP Trolley will stack.
BTW, ad states All LEGO with no exclusions. (star wars Millennium Falcon shown)

Amazing how these sales are back to back. It may be that way all the way until Christmas. Need.... to... start... conserving.... money...
Re: [US] Toys R Us BOGO50 Sale, Sep 9-10
I've noticed they tend to put these sales back-to-back in my opinion so that they can 'run out' of the more expensive sets and use that as an excuse for not relisting / always being out of stock so that you can only get the $150+ sets during the first few days of the FIRST sale, or if you are lucky and catch them when they put like 20 sets available and run out again in 30min.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Is it just me or did TRU take down Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium? No longer listed in the Creator category, and a Google search takes me to an error page.
Re: [US] Toys R Us BOGO50 Sale, Sep 9-10
Sux how Grand Emporium, Fire Brigade, and MMV are missing from the site. Winter Bakery as well. Although if it doesn't stack, then the $40 off $150 is a better deal for the $150 items.

TRU blows. I just checked their website and they have the Death Star in stock but it is limited to 1 per customer. So much for the b1g1 deal. Same with other high dollar sets such as the tower bridge and millennium falcon. This is why TRU never gets any of my money.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

This really isn't new unfortunately. Earlier this summer when they did back to back BOGO 50% sales, they decided to cap the more expensive sets. You might be able to call the 1-800 number to get them to order 2 for you... During the first week of the BOGO craziness they had, I called in right after midnight EST and was able to order 2 Fire Brigades at BOGO 50% no problem.anakinisvader wrote:TRU blows. I've also posted before that the solution to the problem: Buy these sets when they are available (before a BOGO cuz they get sold out within the first 12-24 hours), so that way when a sale does come, you just return them, and repurchase them during the sale and just keep a little TRU Credit (I constantly have TRU store credit anyways because I'm constantly buying/returning). Store managers have the call if they want to limit you, but most will not unless they find out that you are a reseller (had a friend who loaded up with several thousands of dollars during a BOGO 50% and they would only sell him 2 sets total).

The sale is stacking BOGO50 and the $40 off $150 - but only if you add a bunch of stuff to your order. The more you add, the greater the discount becomes (to a limit.) I needed to add something like 6 items to my cart to get 40% off the first, and BOGO50 off the second, then the rest were regular price. They needed to be relatively pricey sets too. Not sure if it is worth it to buy all of this, and return the "extra" sets for store credit.

For some reason the BOGO is not working online right now. Also the $40 off $150 is not available anymore.

Right now I can't get the BOGO to work, no matter how many items are added. Also the $40 off of $150 isn't there anymore:(. $25 off of $100 and $10 off of $50 both show.

$40 off $150 works, but have to add $500 worth of stuff to your cartturtle1173 wrote:Right now I can't get the BOGO to work, no matter how many items are added. Also the $40 off of $150 isn't there anymore:(. $25 off of $100 and $10 off of $50 both show.

The Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium sets are back in stock online as of 9am this morning and both are eligible for the BOGO50 deal. I bought both, and got the Harry Potter promo gift free. Based on past experience, I was shocked this worked, and don't know how much longer they will have both modular sets available, but they are there now.
Re: [US] Toys R Us BOGO50 Sale, Sep 9-10
Modular sets are sold out now...I went with the Shuttle Expedition and Medieval Market and got the Harry Potter thing. Not bad, over 2800 pieces for $150...
Re: [US] Toys R Us BOGO50 Sale, Sep 9-10
Man the Star Wars Advent Calendar (7958) and LEGO Star Wars Battle for Geonosis (7869) is overpriced by $10. Bogo only makes it back to msrp.
Stupid TRU exclusives so heavily marked up. Luckily, we have s@h and lego stores that carries TRU exclusives or prices would be even more ridiculous at TRU.

according to facebook, this sale runs until the 17th, however it will exclude Star Wars sets, so get them today or tomorrow.
