[Pirates] Retires in 2010

Now official and confirmed. The LEGO team told Ambassadors that no further LEGO Pirates sets will be released as it wasn't designed as an on going LEGO theme. LEGO Pirates sets will no longer be on shelves after the first half of 2010. The line did sell pretty well so theres a chance it will come back again in the future.

Even though LEGO Pirates will no longer be available, there will be lots of new themes coming in 2010 including Ben 10, Toy Story, and much more !

This is sad news. But I heard that it was planned for only one year anyway, maybe they were just testing how popular the pirates theme still is before committing to anything. I don't think pirates is over yet, I have a feeling we'll see the return of LEGO pirates in the next two or three years.
