Are there 2 versions of 7592 - Construct A Buzz?

Post by atmail35 » Mon Jan 24, 2011 2:17 pm

I was in Kmart and noticed two different boxes, one was white and one was blue. Both were #7592 but one had 205 pieces and the other had 211 pieces.

I should have taken a picture, but I'm pretty certain of this. I'm just wondering why one has 6 more pieces?

They had different UPCs, I was hoping one would ring on clearance at Kmart (since someone mentioned they found it on sale), but it did not.

I was just curious really.

I don't know why the discrepancy in piece count, but there are two box designs used for Toy Story sets - the white boxes were generally for TS3-themed sets, the blue box for previous movies, I believe.

TRU in Canada had different prices for the box colour. The blue one on clearance for $29.97 and the white one for $34.99.

Check the boxes. If I'm not mistaken, some don't have the LGM. That would explain the difference.

Well the box with less parts definitely has the alien....maybe I was seeing things or maybe they changed Buzz slightly? I'm almost certain that both boxes I saw had the alien. Anyway it's not really a big deal either way, just curiosity really.

Back in November, I saw both of them side-by-side in a Toys R Us, which I thought was strange so I took a picture. I didn't even notice the different piece counts until now. Both boxes have the LGM.

Wow, Canada prices suck. Anyhow-I'd ask The LEGO Company about it.

That's funny b/c I was just coming to post my own identical picture (from Kmart)...at least I don't feel like I'm losing my mind now! :)

I've seen both of these but I've never put it together until now. Weird.

And they have the same part number on the box too.

Didn't notice it myself. I bought a blue-boxed set in a Walmart for 50% off the Canadian MSRP (so $17.50) and didn't note the difference since I did not have a white box to compare it with.

EDIT: Didn't notice either this topic's been dead for 2 months  .
