I simply don't understand how LEGO could price this 586 pieces set at 150$. Ok, there are probably many big parts in the lot, but still, it shouldn't be that expensive.
Re: Walmart.ca City Space Port 20% off
I've been pondering buying this all day, $120 is still pretty steep I think
Re: Walmart.ca City Space Port 20% off
Saw it built in a case at the Lego Store. It's a nice looking set. Just checked Bricklink and total weight (box and manuals included I think) for the Spaceport is 1500g. The Deep Sea Vessel at the same price ($150) weighs 1700g and the just for comparison the $120 Police Station weighs 2100g and $120 Prison Island 1900g. So it's definitely on the lighter side.
I would say go for it if you like it. But don't buy it if it's just because it's reduced.

I would say it'd be a good idea to wait a bit until the price is reduced further. Worst case scenario is that it sells out - but then you can still get it at a TRU sale for 20% off all City (they will likely run these again soon).

WHEN??!?! lol. I was so used to TRU taking 20% off City, Star Wars, Superheroes, etc on Friday morning. I want them to start again !!!! :)harry99 wrote:but then you can still get it at a TRU sale for 20% off all City (they will likely run these again soon).
Re: Walmart.ca City Space Port 20% off
Yeah, I'm definitely waiting. I thought about it more last night and this morning. Think I'm gonna pick up 2 or 3 Avengers Towers to expand =)
I too have been waiting for the TRU 20% off city and superhero Lego. Can't come soon enough

Re: Walmart.ca City Space Port 20% off
My personal guess is that the low Canadian dollar reduced the profit margins on LEGO - that's why they probably don't run them quite as frequently anymore. I am sure there will be one again soon. Over the last year there were definitely not very many though.

its also $120 at the lego store now, so better to get it there than at TRU when you can get cash back rewards (with online purchase) and the usual 5% towards your lego vip pts whereas tru, airmiles is the only reward.

Just an FYI...Toys R Us is no longer an Airmiles affiliate.ricefields wrote:its also $120 at the lego store now, so better to get it there than at TRU when you can get cash back rewards (with online purchase) and the usual 5% towards your lego vip pts whereas tru, airmiles is the only reward.

Re: Walmart.ca City Space Port 20% off
as of feb 5, 2016, I was still getting airmiles (based on my purchase of the bike shop creator set), so is this recent? because the link is still on the airmilesshop.ca website today and still working.
Re: Walmart.ca City Space Port 20% off
They no longer accept airmiles card in store (in GTA, not sure about other areas), but you can still earn miles through airmilesshop.ca (where it's like a cashback but you earn miles instead of cash).

Thanks for clarifying that.DrRichie wrote:They no longer accept airmiles card in store (in GTA, not sure about other areas), but you can still earn miles through airmilesshop.ca (where it's like a cashback but you earn miles instead of cash).
