"Lego has released its first line of adult jewellery in the form of sterling silver rings adorned with the children's construction block... The jewellery is part of a trend towards "kidult" play-themed products...
The silver rings will sell for £50 and come with two interchangeable Lego bricks available in more than 15 colours...

"In our research we found that Lego is one of the most tactile objects for people of all ages. You just can't resist picking it up and starting to have a play."

Lego spokesman Paal Smith-Meyer (Creative Director, Concept & Design at LEGO) said: "We are excited to test launch this jewellery line with Selfridges. It is a line that celebrates individual expression in a playful way, using the Lego bricks that we all grew up with in a new way."

Bingo. Sterling silver LEGO rings that support the blocks...This is going to become a collector's item quite quickly because I can't see these selling.

Interesting and is very different from what we've seen from lego.

That’s a very unique ring! It's beautiful but it's just like a kid's toy. I think that is good to give as a gift to kids because for me that is not suitable as adult rings. This is just my point of view; please don't take it as criticism.

I disagree. There are people who make aftermarket jewelry using Lego that seem to do fairly well. I know there are Lego cufflinks out there that I want.

I'd buy a few and see how many LEGO designs I could make off of rings and such. I'm imagining some sort of microscale tower.

Skepticism apart, I believe this is a great concept. Make your own jewelry is a dynamic and attractive model. I’ve always wanted my favorite pearl jewelry to be customized and would love to try out a few things with this Lego Jewelry. The only thing that I hope is, Lego comes out with some grown-up and jewelry like designs for those building blocks.

I think they are great, I got matching sets of cufflinks for my groomsmen in my wedding and rings to match for the bridesmaids. At the wedding so many people wanted to look at them and complimented them, it was a great touch as gifts for the wedding, partially because I'm insane for Lego too and most people at the wedding new it. I'm not sure what kinds Lego plans to make, but the customized artists that make personalized Lego jewelry do just fine and charge for the most part sensible prices.
