Lego Bases

Hello all,

Another question from a newbie to lego world.

Bases???? not the flat ones but ones that are multi leveled, are they good to have or a waste?

There are bases listed on ebay that have water painted on them and they have raised areas?

It's all relative to what you want to build, I guess... before going to eBay, unless they're a GREAT price, check out bricklink.com: here's a full listing of raised baseplates they have:

They're fine if you want some leveling but don't care about the non LEGO look of them. I have quite a few from childhood but they're a bit restricting sometimes. They do save on bricks though.
