Official LEGO colors associated to CMF's?

Post by countryboy » Mon Mar 04, 2013 8:39 am

Looking to try and match the colors used on the CMF series within a display case i've built out of wood/glass.. Is there a defactor list of the colors for each of the series so that i can acquire the plates needed for the bases and stands to match each of the series sets.?

Cheers,

I'm not certain that the CMF series colors directly correspond to LEGO part colors, but my interpretation (using official color names and numbers first, Bricklink names second as AKA, if different), I'd speculate that this is the closest you'd be able to get:
  • Series 1: Bright yellow (#24) AKA Yellow
  • Series 2: Bright Blue (#23) AKA Blue
  • Series 3: Bright Yellowish Green (#119) AKA Lime Green
  • Series 4: Flame Yellowish Orange (#191) AKA Bright Light Orange
  • Series 5: Medium Azure (#322)
  • Series 6: White (#1)
  • Series 7: Bright Red (#21) AKA Red
  • Series 8: Black (#26)
You could cross-reference these charts as well as the names of the colors in LEGO Digital Designer to modify the above as you see fit.
The only one that's a bit of a mystery would be Series 9. The packaging is a sort of metallic silver, which has many interpretations in LEGO colors, from chrome plated, to metallic, to sort of swirly white/gray (AKA "pearl") with a fall-back of Medium Stone Gray. I think you'd be best prepared by determining which pieces you want to use and then see which of the metallic colors you can justifiably use out of the following:
  • Silver (#131) AKA Pearl Light Gray
  • Silver flip/flop (#179) AKA Flat Silver
  • [Silver] (#301) AKA Chrome Silver
  • Medium Stone Grey (#194) AKA Light Bluish Gray

Not a problem. Just realized I somehow had the BL colors swapped for series 1 and series 2, meaning "Bright Yellow (#24) AKA Blue" for CMFs1 and "AKA Yellow" for CMFs2. Edited the post to reflect the non-idiotic version ;-)
