Re: Name that piece (the Brick/Minifigure identification top
There's some pieces in the Race 3000 game that are used to build the little vehicles. They look like they're shaped like a telephone and are 1x3 in size.
Does anyone know what there are generally called?

Re: Name that piece (the Brick/Minifigure identification top
can anyone explain the difference between part 60470 and 60470b on bricklink? How would one determine the difference?
Re: Name that piece (the Brick/Minifigure identification top
The difference is the ends of the clips. 60470 has squared-off ends that get thicker, whereas 60470b has rounded ends that stay the same thickness through the curve.

Re: Name that piece (the Brick/Minifigure identification top
Been sorting a loose lot of LEGO and I finally narrowed down to these items that I am 99% sure are not LEGO.

The minifig head is different, hollow stud and lighter plastic, the grey scuba thing with visor doesn't seem right plastic wise, and the rest I am sure are not LEGO, except maybe the figure.
The black 2x1 baseplate is LEGO for reference size.
Can I chuck these with the Megablocks and other non-LEGO stuff pile?
And on side note, is there a definitive way to tell LEGO from non-LEGO as I know not all LEGO parts have "LEGO" molded into the part ? I think a (c) symbol means it is LEGO ?

Wow that was fast. I think I found the scuba one, it is called 6158 on Bricklink, it wasn't named scuba.
The minifig head I am not sure still, I took closer view with a regular minifig beside it.
The one in question is lighter softer plastic, brighter and hollow stud and has a noticable mold ring on it.
I took 2 closer pics, does the head still seem right?
I have another one with the same face design but plastic on that one is same as all other minifigs.

http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/7698/r0014956.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Just don't want to contaminate my pure LEGO with any non-LEGO as there are now fake LEGO-like sets out there. Maybe this a newer one?
And any checklist to tell non-LEGO from LEGO if no "LEGO" stamped on it?
Thanks again!

Re: Name that piece (the Brick/Minifigure identification top
I think the head with the mustache and beard is from Brick Block- a knock off company that makes eerily similar sets on the cheap. The mustache halves look a little too far apart for me. I could be wrong. The breather and cool glasses head I think are Lego. I've seen that type of helmet in the fire sets. Usually a fire hat goes over it to complete the "enclose the head" trick.

Thanks, I think it is a knock-off head, too different from another head that I know is original.
Off to the junk pile it goes, thanks all for the help .. I hope the next pile I sort is better

As mentioned, Jack Stone is Lego.
You have a black 1x2 tile. I'm pretty sure I see "Lego" on the studs.
None of those guns, camera, scooter, fire extinguisher. All fake.
I'm curious about the white basket and the blue hat. They almost look like they could be Fabuland stuff. I'm not sure.

I thought the Blue Hat could be that too but I don't see it on BrickLink and there is no LEGO on it anywhere but the quality and plastic seems right. The basket is unknown. Both are in my junk pile now, can't spend too much time worrying. The 1x2 is for real LEGO for reference. Thanks again all !

The blue hat is Homemaker bb15 (bricklink), more than likely. It is Lego.

Hello, i'm looking for a piece but don't know where to find it on Bricklink. It is the part to do the shower door in Olivia's House. Somebody can help me... Or maybe i can use an other piece to do something like that. Thanks a lot !
Re: Name that piece (the Brick/Minifigure identification top
Do you mean you can't find the set's inventory to look up the part? If so, just check here.nel34 wrote:i'm looking for a piece but don't know where to find it on Bricklink.
You can find any set's inventory by going to Bricklink's homepage, clicking Catalog, typing in a keyword down in the search box, and clicking (Inv) next to the result that you're interested in seeing. (In this case, "olivia's house" or "3315" would've worked.)
Or alternatively, click Catalog and scroll down the "Sets" list to Friends, then find the set in there.

In this instance, however, it's a slat to a garage door, but I don't know exactly what it's called at BL.
Re: Name that piece (the Brick/Minifigure identification top
^ Yep, in Trans-light blue.

^ Yeah, Bricklink is... esoteric, to say the least. Not in any way user-friendly. Once you know all the tricks, though, you've got it.
