Re: Bricks N Pieces alternative to Pick A Brick online order

Post by dho7622u » Tue May 24, 2016 5:07 pm

So here is an interesting turn...my items were never received. I happened to check the tracking number and they are "delivered" on THURSDAY. I was at home all day. FedEx to USPS, and nothing is like dealing with the USPS. Their automated service stinks. So, I guess I won't be able to update my experience as I don't think I will get the package.

**** Update 5/26/16

Items came in the mail today. Through the full investigation I learned that the invoice and the offer for a free ticket was sent via FedEx, and that is what my tracking number was. I thought nothing of it since it came in a traditional envelope.

The pieces were just what I ordered (all sorts of fiddly things and parts count was perfect). The overall experience (outside of my dumb-assery) was great. Expensive overall (average piece count ended up being 35 cents, I think) but fun to get unique pieces in bulk and most less than Brick link.

Thanks for all the info,

david

Bricks N Pieces has added some interested parts. Can't promise that they'll stick around. I fear by posting people may get greedy and snatch up mass quantities but... I'll do it anyway in case it helps others.

For several items I listed the price for $2-$3 because I didn't write it down but I do remember that they were somewhere between $2-$4.

To browse most torso pieces available use part number 76382

Several fun items from the Fun in the Park set (baby and wheelchair set) set number 60134
Even the baby body and head are available but very expensive. I'll wait for the baby in the new blindbags. Wheel chair also available but very expensive.
I really liked the variety of heads and torsos available (plus white female hair)

Nexo Knights added lots of new items to the availability in Bricks and Pieces. Only 2 of the visors were available. Orange helmet and Green helmet available but not the blue one. Several fun faces.

Angry Birds eggs
Blue Beetle Torso $0.98 (legs are also available but $2-$3) 76382
Scarecrow hat $3.10 (20606) ouch... I don't like the price but I do really like the part
Gamer kid torso (from Dimensions set) 76382
Hairpiece from Beauty and the Beast set (95226)
Elves new hood with ears (26543) $2.10
Another hood like the one above but different color (26536)
Ghostbusters ghost lady hairpiece (20595) white
Ghostbusters brown hairpiece also available (same item number)
Ghostbusters ghost lady ghost "legs" (19859) other colors available also
Ghostbusters ghost lady torso 76382
Ghostbusters face Rick Moranis (double sided.. I think)
Mini sculptures/statues/trophies (90398) now available in sand green and white
Green Goblin hat with ears $2-$3 (18987) also available as black hat with red ears from Nexo Knights set
Green Goblin torso (expensive)
Green Goblin purple "bag" (re-color of the Indiana Jones satchel)
Vulture wings 93250
Hobgoblin hood. The hood isn't new but now available in orange 98011
The Riddler torso (from classic Batcave)
Catwoman torso (from classic Batcave)
Joker's hair different green from past sets from classic Batcave (64798)
The Penguin top hat now in purple from classic Batcave (3878)
Light grey ninja mask (96034) remember those ninja mask/hoods from over 10 years ago? Its those and available now in light grey and some sort of purple
Beard black color 10052

I placed my order Monday night and received an email this morning (Wednesday) stating that it has shipped! My order contained over 60 different items (some with multiple quantities). I only mention this because a small order may take less time than a large order.

My last order (this summer) also shipped very quickly. I've had a few experiences in the past in which they didn't ship as quickly so I'm very pleased.

Re: Bricks N Pieces alternative to Pick A Brick online order

A few items that I've discovered recently are as follows:
Printed wall piece from The Disney Castle (above the main door) Design # 27357 ($1.97 too expensive for me)
Clock face printed tile from Disney Castle - Design #27347 ($0.36)
Printed tile with target from Disney Castle and a Friends or Elves set - Design #25414 ($0.38)
A piece that is completely new to me from Disney Castle - Design #23969 ($0.27)
Ghostbuster hairpiece (new ECTO-1) Hairpiece is a new one with a bun (character with glasses) Design #27186 ($0.19)
Coffee guy hairpiece in brick-yel (light tan) - Design #99930 ($0.19)

At the moment shipping is free with any regular order. I ordered one seasonal Vampire and Bat set plus a few of the items that I listed above (and some others that I've posted about in the recent past). Shipping was entirely free even though the only regular item (Non bricks&pieces item) was the $10 seasonal set.

I tried to buy a portal 2 minifigure, and ship it to a friend, and it told me shipping was $3. (EDIT - it's free if you add a PAB piece, literally any one piece.)

However great to know about the Disney pieces. There is also a piece I found, it's a crosswalk tile piece that I had never seen before. I'll see if I can find the numbers.

23969 isn't new at all, it's a Friends piece, it's used for gift boxes.

So happy about that new small clock piece being made available.

Hmmm... That's interesting that you added one PAB piece to get free shipping. I was very frustrated because I though shipping was free at the moment but after completing my choices for Bricks and Pieces and adding the Vampire and Bat set I still saw the "Free shipping for orders $35 and up? suggestion at the top of my page. I then checked the prices of plain leg assemblies in PAB and added 2 to my cart. I then decided that I didn't want them (PAB legs) at the moment and I deleted them (so now no items from PAB) and at that moment I noticed that I wasn't being charged for shipping.

I can see how they could use that piece for a Friends gift boxes. I hadn't noticed it. Thanks.

I finally went to go an order about $45 worth of things, plus the wedding gift set in order to get that free Nexo thing (That I don't really want, but hey it's free.) and after spending all that time... it was gone. They already have the October promo up.

I think this is the universe telling me something.

Death Star and Holiday Train added, nothing special.

Only somewhat interesting piece is black legs with printing....

Did my second order and it went well. This time it was at my house in about a week.

Thanks to StClair for his never ending research.

The website is still a bit frustrating and certainly expensive but it does feel exciting when the pieces arrive.

Thanks for the feedback!

For those that are selling their 40223 Snowglobe (with some regret) I discovered that its listed on Bricks N Pieces.
One could easily make one with slight variations in color if they already have Santa (or don't need to include him.. gasp) with the 2 following parts (clear round walls and clear dish on top) I guess 4 clear wall pieces are needed
4599452 Wall Element 4x4x6, Round Tr available in 13 sets ($1.24)
6093714 Dish 64x9.6 TR available in 1 set ($1.34)
So the clear top half of the snow globe ordering them would be $6.30 ($1.24x4 +$1.34) unless you already have the four needed round walls. In that case it would just be $1.34 for the clear dish piece on top (exclusive to the snow globe set).

Below are the two parts listed above with other parts that (according to Brickset appear in 19 or less sets).

60475 1x1 brick with clip (available in 5 sets in this color)
6029777 Santa torso
9342 Santa legs
20619 Santa head
4610044 Beard for mini figure 2 available in 11 sets
6055830 Santa hat available in 9 sets (currently NOt available at Bricks N Pieces)
4621557 1x1 plate Bright yellowish green available in 11 sets
6170307 Bracelet upper part light royal blue available in 1 set (not available in this color at bricks n pieces currently)
6170576 same piece as above but in dark green available in 5 sets
6123809 Brick 1x2x1 with knobs on the side available in 19 sets
6093908 Profile brick 1x2 single gro. New Dark Red available in 8 sets
4650865 1x6 flat tile New Dark Red available in 10 sets
4624507 Door for 30044 Red. Brown available in 12 sets
6096108 Plate half circle 3x6 with cut Sand Yellow available in 2 sets
4599452 Wall Element 4x4x6, Round Tr available in 13 sets ($1.24)
6093714 Dish 64x9.6 TR available in 1 set ($1.34)

I referenced Brickset to see what parts are included/needed so there may be mistakes

HAHA! I brought the snow globe up in the other topic. We really need to combine them. :) I bought a Pet Shop, hopefully it won't be canceled, mainly because I think I can get $40 for the Snowglobe down the road.

I do have a question, I'm looking for an orange minifigure head for a MOC, needs to be scary and almost human like, but not quite. Also looking for double sided faces of man / woman scared and then not, and the double side woman's face that the other side has her wearing sun glasses (I love that piece but can't remember what set I got mine in.).

Thanks legogod for your help. If I get time I'll see what I can come up with. No certain orange head that matches that pops into my head. I think I do remember a double sided face though if I can only remember the details. Sorry. I've been really busy with family, online Christmas shopping and packing ebay purchases (minifigures) for shipment (finally moving a few :) ). Take care.

Every single time!

I was trying to order some pieces for my sister. She isn't a huge fan but I figured she would like some food for the mini displays she has. I go to add the "Once Upon a Time" tile and it's OOS.

Also today was the last day for Pick-a-Brick before Christmas. It looks like we have another 7ish days for Bricks and Pieces and sometime mid month it seems to close because it gets too busy and they need to reorganize it, then will reopen in February.
We carefully hand pick and pack all orders from LEGO® Pick a Brick and Bricks & Pieces. That's why we can't offer express shipping for this type of order. Pick a Brick deliveries can take up to 18 working days and Bricks & Pieces 7-10 working days to arrive. We can't add gift messages or delivery instructions to Bricks & Pieces orders. We ship these separately from any sets you've ordered so you may get your items in several deliveries.
Also nothing special is for sale with the new sets. However the pizza slice is Element 6175469
Design number 29775. The new mud flaps which will be great for window overhangs, Design number 28326. There ar red, orange and black, but none for sale yet.

It closes on Thursday until February 1st. Some of the 2015 pieces are already disappearing, like the LEGO Store Employee torso I never bought.

I hope when it returns they fix the fact that your cart gets erased if you don't pay attention to it for 5 minutes. That's super annoying. :)

I agree about the cart issue. I was wondering when it closes. Thanks! Last find that I found was a 2x2 tile in the Bank Modular set. It appears to be a portrait of someone. Maybe the founder of the bank or bank manager? I haven't been checking lately so I could have missed some new parts. Struggling to find time.

There haven't been too many pieces added, even the new sets don't have anything special, not just of prints but of the 2017 pieces.

That picture of the guy has been there a little while, I'm guess the founder for CEO. Was there a picture of boat at one time? I swear there was, I'm love one of them.
