Greenhorns and posts

Post by sadowsk1 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 5:23 pm

It seems like recently green horns on the website have been putting out some big surveys. I've been to some websites where new members have to contribute to so many threads before they can start their own topic. Has that been considered for this site?

That is a very clever idea. I've seen many spammers on the forums creating irrelevant topics that is nothing related to LEGO.

Well, it might work, but whats to stop the spammers from just spamming existing threads instead of starting their own spammy threads?
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?

I don't see the harm in trying to stop it, if nothing happens then nothing changes.

I don't want to give too much restrictions for "Newly Registered Users". They already do not have access to PM and certain forums. Putting another restriction will not attract visitors to sign up. However, I will consider it as that is a good point.

That being said, we do have some anti-spam questions in our registration form. When we see answers that don't make sense, we delate those users.
