Good sale, but now that Lego has their new policy on the 10xxx series, those 30-40% off modulars last year are a thing of the past. :-0

Shipping and import fees kills these deals for us up here in Canada.

Amazon can do whatever it wants. LEGO might have went "We dont' want our 10xxx sets on sale" but unless LEGO is going to buy the sets back Amazon can clearance them out to make f=room if they want, they did buy the sets.

I would have bought Colby Town if it wasn't for the stupid illegal Amazon tax in Massachusetts now.

Not according to my local Lego store manager, when I talked to them last week. They said if any retailer, Walmart, Amazon, etc. tries to low ball Lego's 10xxx series prices like last year (like Walmart crazy sales when I got deals like a $91 Grand Emporium, $94 for the petshop, $120 Townhall, etc) Lego would no longer sell them those particular 10xxx series, going forward. Of course you can take that with a grain of salt coming from just one store manager.
If you look at Amazon right now, they really show no "Online exclusive" sets sold at significant discount (same at Toys R Us, Walmart and Target). Time will tell what happens in the future. Hopefully that might change and one retailer will pass on savings. :)

Firstly, people in a LEGO Store know nothing unless they go online like we do.

But sure LEGO can threaten the stores not to sell them the new sets in the future, however the current sets once the store buys them they can do whatever they want. I can see Amazon selling the big fire station CC building for cheap to get rid of space in a warehouse and I don't think LEGO will cut them off.

I agree with you Lego can't control retailers (just look at TRUs prices) and Amazon could have a fire sale as you suggest; however, this time last year, we had tons and tons of fire sales on the big sets. Amazon and Walmart is doing that now on many smaller/mid-size sets (which Amazon is price matching), but not any of the 10xxx sets.

Ah, I wonder how many Lego employees or friends of, have been able to utilize the 30% employee discount and flip the those sets on eBay. And then the 50% a couple times a year. Must be a bonus, when a customer comes in to the b&m store and returns an old set that has already been marked down..not knowing the value has doubled. :)

Darn, knew the Galactic Titan would go down in price after I ordered it. Hopefully we be building it tonight when I get home!

Black Friday will be interesting this year with all this talk of no discounts on 10xxx sets. Typically Lego Shop does 10% odd store wide.

Was going to pick up museum break in last week, waited and now it is $5 cheaper. Nice!

I am also waiting to see what happens on black friday. In prior years, I got the big creator sets for 10% off. I did stock up with Walmart last year, so I am good for those sets (I got 5 each ^_^ in case I need parts)
