May the 4th be with you (2013)

Post by slacker » Fri Apr 26, 2013 9:06 am

I got an email for a sneak peak but that's all I got. I didn't see any sets that were discounted.

Yeah, I got the same email. What we really want to know is will there be any good sales this year. Free shipping and a poster are nice and all, but not what I was hoping to hear about.

20 bucks says nothing is on sale and those offers are the extent of things.

I use the expression figuratively of course. I do hope I am wrong, however. If I'm Lego, I just don't see the need for markdowns anymore - people will buy anyway for the minifigure. We shall see.

Rumor on some other sites is that the UCS B-Wing will be 50% off. A number of other SW sets are 10% off.

I was waiting to get UCS R2-D2 with discount on May 4th; however, it seems TLG may break my plan. On the other hands, it indicated that R2-D2 sold much better than B-Wing.

Too bad that I really don't have room to adopt B-Wing even if it is 50% off.

For the mini-figure? This is one of the worst one to date in my opinion. I rather have a 30-50% off May 4th sale compared to this crappy promo any day.

I'm going to bite on this promo, I've been waiting for an excuse to get the Umbarran MHC and new Hoth hard-to-find sets

I don't think the new Han figure knocks anybody's socks off. But as someone who doesn't own any of the previous Han Hoth versions, I'm definitely getting this and I'm not sure it's going to be any cheaper than $10-15 elsewhere. Factoring that guess into the cost of the sets I mentioned above, and it's appealing enough for me.

Has anybody ever had luck getting multiple minifigs IN-STORE? I can make as many orders as I want online and get the figure each time, but on the rare occasion I ventured to the Lego store for a minifig promo giveaway I was told the giveaways were limited to one per membership. When I just asked if I could make another purchase and not use my membership, the employee politely said the stores only have a limited supply and they do their best to make sure everybody gets one. Understandable and I respect that, but that particular store lost out on over $200 in additional purchases that I made online because I wanted a couple of those Hulk minifigs

The last cashier I went to just tossed in 4 Republic Frigate polybags when I bought a Deathstar set without asking. Hoping for the same next week for the promotion.

During the hulk promo I got three for buying a couple big sets, I did ask if I made more purchases if I could get two and she said yes, but I ended buying everything at once and she gave me three on one ticket.

I highly doubt it. "Maybe" 20% at best

If the UCS B-Wing goes 50% off, definitey grabbing one. I don't care for the set but would be almost a no-brainer for me to get that at 50% off. Would add nicely to the few other UCS sets I have.

Would the 50% off(if it's true) be for everyone or just VIP members or just in store? I would bite on 50% off too since I sold my regular B-Wing a couple years ago, now I have all the "main" starships excluding the yet to buy A-Wing and B-Wing.

I strongly doubt 50% off B-wing. Not sure where that rumor started. Does s@h ever have good sets at 50% off?

Maybe the force will be with us this year. Meaning we have to force TLG to give us good deals.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Where's the Rumor Link for the 50% off B-Wing for May 4th. There is no way Lego would have 50% off, Maybe 20%.

I just got back into lego collecting, and I was wondering if the in-store deals are typically different from the online deals?

I need to figure out if it is worth it for me to drive 2 hrs to closest Lego store or just not worry about it and buy from the shop at home website.
