Re: May the 4th be with you (2013)
99% of the time same deals, except for pick a brick free boxes and random store clearance events
Re: May the 4th be with you (2013)
I'd be happy with 10% off SW sets. I've been spending my brick budget on the LOTR sets and am far behind on the SW sets.
Re: May the 4th be with you (2013)
Today, the manager at my store confirmed that the Bwing Will be 50% off on Saturday.

I'll believe it when I see it.
Does this go live at midnight eastern time like most online deals? I remember last year a few things went active at 12, but it wasn't until later that 10212 hit 20% off... And was gone by the time I noticed!

Re: May the 4th be with you (2013)
I have seen many people posting confirmations about the 50% B-wing. And specifically saying the info came from store employees / managers. And I have seen also several post by people with intel "who are always right" denying the whole thing.
I have decided to believe that the 50% is real but it will be store only. It makes much more sense this way, with the free shipping and being a heavy set, S@H would lose money at 50%. On the other hand it makes sense that this set is taking too much shelf space at the stores so it is possible they want to get rid of it.

I'm leaning towards 50% because it really does look like a slow seller. It's always on the shelves whenever I stop by the Lego store. They even included a free TC-14 all month last October and I don't think I've seen one move.

You were lucky. Last year, my friend only got 2 TC-14 from purchasing a Deathstar. The sale associate were unwilling to pass second one to my friend after he asked.janckson wrote: The last cashier I went to just tossed in 4 Republic Frigate polybags when I bought a Deathstar set without asking. Hoping for the same next week for the promotion.
Re: May the 4th be with you (2013)
They're probably more willing to throw in extra promo sets when they think they're going to have leftovers.
Re: May the 4th be with you (2013)
If they do not then it will become another 10215 OBI-WAN JEDI STARFIGHTER.janckson wrote:I'm leaning towards 50% because it really does look like a slow seller. Not to mention the reviews aren't that great on Lego.com, 3.6 overall, 2.5 Play Experience, 3.1 Value for money. I wouldn't buy this for a kid when there are other sets that don't "fall apart when you move it" as many reviews have stated. I guess it is a UCS set so it's aimed at AFOL'S anyways but there are other UCS sets that would appeal more to most IMO. If it does end up going 50% off it will be my first SW set, what can I say I'm a sucker for a good deal. I'm still hoping there is some sort of sale in the SSD or DS, Canadian MSRP on these sets is way too high.janckson wrote:I'm leaning towards 50% because it really does look like a slow seller. Sad thing is, even at 50% off, the UCS B-Wing is just not worth it to me. Another lousy May the 4th sale. I guess the glory days are gone.

Re: May the 4th be with you (2013)
Hello,
There have been threads all over the internet over the past several days regarding 10227 going on sale for 50% ($100) May 4th/5th weekend. I just called my local LEGO store and asked if this information is true and the employee verbally confirmed that it was. I asked her how many they had in stock and she said "too many too count". I also asked how many per customer (hoping she would say only 1 per customer) and she did say the deal is one per customer, but we'll see (hoping so as re-sellers annoy me). I just wanted to share.
Take care,
Charlie, soon to be owner of 10227 & 10240 tomorrow!

If it goes to 50% online, I'll have to order one. There really is no way to avoid it.

Re: May the 4th be with you (2013)
Can anyone in Canada confirm the sale? I don't have a Lego store near me and long distance is crazy expensive on my cell otherwise I would call.

@scotts, yes my local Lego store (Vancouver) confirmed 50% off the B-Wing (and 10-20% off various sets) tomorrow.

The B-wing is 50% off for North America only. Dang, Europe got shafted.
