Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Here we Go Toys R Us Buy One Get One 40% OFF 4/21-4/27
its convenient because the coupon cancels out the 20% markup on each set, and we have the pleasure of doing business with a fine store like toys r us

All the Galaxy Squad sets are at retail, so those are you best bets.
Re: Here we Go Toys R Us Buy One Get One 40% OFF 4/21-4/27
Lame sale. I could have gotten 2 Ninjago sets at MSRP last night of $19.99 each... now they are $24.99 each, so together for this sale, I would save a whopping $0.60. OMG, thank you for your AWESOME 'sales' TRU!
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Sad what TRU has become. I used to spend probably 80%+ of my "Lego Budget" at TRU when I first came out of my dark ages 3 years ago....back when there wasn't a TRU tax. And I spent an embarrassing amount there.
Nowadays the only thing I really buy at TRU are CMF, Polybags, and an occasional TRU Exclusive when they happen to have a sale that actually gives a discount over 5%. Overall I would say I've spent less than $1000 there in the past year because of their horrible practices and lack of sales. How can they not track their sales during these 'promotions' and realize they are not getting the same 'pop' they were when they actually offered sales?

The lego Moms and Dads dont't know any better. Go there 10 days before Christmas, you have to wait for a parking place. You have to admit it works, not on us, but it works. I don't buy anything from TRU, no matter what, just on principal. They don't need us as long as they have the Moms and Dads that are desperate and stupid. They just see 40-50 percent off and buy. They don't ask, off of what.

I have actually helped many parents in TRU with advice and more often than not they are surprised when I tell them TRU Legos are more expensive than anyone else. The ones with smartphones will even start price-checking on the spot. I imagine, even in this day of internet accessibility, TRU makes a lot of money off people too lazy to shop around.

More like the complaining. Honestly every TRU sale 90% of the people here complain and act like they didn't know TRU sucks. That said whould 50% off kill them.
This sale is good for getting series 10 minifigures if your store has them, people need to remember that.
Re: Here we Go Toys R Us Buy One Get One 40% OFF 4/21-4/27
Yeah. It is good when these sales coincide with the arrival of minifigures. That is one thing I get regularly at TRU because of these sales. If I am patient, I can usually get the minifigures for around $2.50n
each or less. Which is kind of okay, since I rarely find them on sale elsewhere. I know, though, that at least one time they jacked the minifigs to $3.99 for one of their sales. Luckily that hasn't happened for series 10, up here.

I signed my kids up for the birthday club at TRU. Geoffrey used to call them on their birthday, now he just sends a bill.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Agreed regarding the mini figs. Was able to get 14 of 16 in one trip. :)
Re: Here we Go Toys R Us Buy One Get One 40% OFF 4/21-4/27
If you use the 20% off coupon on two Technic sets, it's the same as BOGO 40% off. Just sayin'
Re: Here we Go Toys R Us Buy One Get One 40% OFF 4/21-4/27
Works out to $2.55 each for the series 10 minifigures. But online is a no-go without adding something else to the order, because they limit you to 5, so I tried 4 (because it's BOGO so in pairs) and then they charge shipping fees because it's a small order. Worth considering for in-store purchasing, though... if series 10 is in TRUs yet.
With all the gotchas and tripping over myself... probably pass. :/

Man, I went in there the other day and even with this deal it's still so bad. The mark up TRU has is just awful. Still cheaper to get the exclusive sets from LEGO.com. & we can just wait a week or two for free shipping as well. Wasn't even worth it on the planet sets. Just dreadful...

I did read elsewhere some people were able to order online when promo began and before TRU raised prices so this could be a YMMV as that seems to happen regularly when sales start

I got my Series 10 set using this. However, outside of that TRU is just insane for prices.

It is insane. It's like they are stuck in the 90's when a 1 topping large pizza was 22 bucks.Shannon510 wrote:I got my Series 10 set using this. However, outside of that TRU is just insane for prices.
