I would have bought this set for $12 (guessing the price of shipping). I'd love a yellow Maal and some cool slope parts. The mining truck and a Cafe would have been fun too. Oh well. Save money.

At the 34th Street store in Manhattan, there were some deals. At least 10 Mining Trucks that were 50% off. The 7288 Mobile Police Unit was 50% off (2 on the shelf), as was the 4439 Heavy Duty Helicopter (picked up the last one). No Sith Nightspeeders. Items that were tagged with 50% off tags but were not there - MF Mummy and a SW set originally priced at $66 (TIE fighter?). Price checked all of the LotR, Hobbit, MF, SH and SW, but could not find any other discounts.

And all I've got to say is damn, I had been waiting on this one to pick up ONE tie fighter.

The thing that doesn't make sense is they don't normally just take them out of stock so quickly with Kmart. It would usually give you the option to check for in-store pick-up and then you see who's got it. I find it hard to believe that all the stock in the various stores in every state would go at once, which means as far as understanding K-Mart"s elusive clearance method, that they must have a set number of each set for clearance whether in-store or not and once they are all bought up, that's it. So thanks again to the 4 or 5 people who hit that magic number overnight.

I have to admit, even though I managed to order a few sets (Tie Fighter was already sold out when I visited the site, btw), I won't hold my breath until they've shipped. I've had orders canceled before. I've also had sets shipped in too small boxes so they arrive completely crushed. Kmart is not the most reliable retailer in this regard. Still, the crazy prices keep me coming back (and the closest b&m store to me is a 50 minute drive away, and it's a horrible store, so I usually don't bother).

i am at the store now and i can confirm the deal is in stores as well. an employee is posting signs that says extra 50 off basic clearance toys from sunday the 24th until march 2! happy hunting indeed!

I bought the last one of the Sith Infiltrator and Tie.

Hit 3 K-marts in South Jersey this morning with mixed results. One had a few TIE Fighters, but no signs anywhere that anything was on clearance and no scanners around to check.

At the other two, I got the following:

9492 x 2 (TIE Fighter) - $27.50/ea
4202 x 1 (Mining Truck) - $15.50
9497 x 3 (Republic Striker Class Starfighter) - $17.00/each
