Re: [TRU] BOGO 50% 2/17 - 2/23
Bogo is alive, but prices are out of this world:
6857 - Toys R Us = 54.99
6857 - LEGO S@H = 39.99
$80 + VIP points vs $83 + point system that always screws you. I'll pass on this BOGO.

BOGO is live but can't find any deals that make it worth it due to the 1 per customer limit. Would have got 2 Vampire Castles otherwise.

Nothing is really worth buying except for selected few which are limited to 1 item per customer........

Quite the joke. Lets jack up our prices then have a sale. We will call it "Buy one, get one 50% off." Little do the customers know we've raised the prices (insert pinky into side of mouth, and begin sinister Dr Evil laugh).

Wow, what a lame sale.
Funhouse escape is $55 (!) ($40 on lego.com right now). So, even with the BOGO, its not a deal. Gathering yesterday on TRU was $67. Buy two with BOGO today, they are $66 each. The only advantage, I guess, would be the free shipping. Not enough to get me to pull the trigger on anything this morning. Maybe something will change later in the week.

yesterday the Avengers Quinjet was $55.99. Today with the BOGO sale you can get 2 for $63.75 ea, since it is jacked up to $84.99. Bargains galore!
Re: [TRU] BOGO 50% 2/17 - 2/23
The only thing TRU is good for is polybags.
Re: [TRU] BOGO 50% 2/17 - 2/23
Yeah, once again, TRU fails us miserably. Even the Y-wing, which is priced great, is excluded. Again, TRU can outright lie - not deceive, not manipulate - lie in their advertisements and they just keep on chugging along.
That being said, there is only one possible good thing I see in this sale, and that's the City Train Station (7937), 2 of which break the free shipping threshold, so you'd get 2 at $41.24 each. Not a terrible price for something that WILL go up in price once it EOLs.

Vampire Castle paired with Jabba's Palace is $5 more expensive with the BOGO50% than it was normally on sale.

Morning, folks, what'd I miss?
If I had a dollar for every time I heard that... I'd have enough to blow on a TRU "sale!"tensor wrote:Yeah, once again, TRU fails us miserably. Even the Y-wing, which is priced great, is excluded. This sale includes Friends, which is unusual for TRU. Many of those sets are MSRP, including all of the smaller new sets. If you are looking to pick up a few Friends set it is a great opportunity. Otherwise, there is not a lot to see.

Galaxy Squad are all currently at MSRP as well.Biomage wrote:This sale includes Friends, which is unusual for TRU. Many of those sets are MSRP, including all of the smaller new sets. If you are looking to pick up a few Friends set it is a great opportunity. Otherwise, there is not a lot to see.
Also the B1G1 50% applies to each pair of sets up to 6 sets in your cart for anyone that wants to add filler to get up to the free shipping min.

One other deal, which tends to fly under the radar in these deals is the Power Functions Rechargeable Battery Box (8878).
This is really your only chance to get these relatively cheap ($75 for two of them). They really are worth it if you are into trains or technic. Of course, you need the adapter also (8887), but only one to charge multiple batteries.

Re: [TRU] BOGO 50% 2/17 - 2/23
I was hoping to pick up some base plates but they are now more expensive than they were before the "sale".
Re: [TRU] BOGO 50% 2/17 - 2/23
All big sets are excluded, oh well I guess they realized they got taken avantage of when people buy them up just to sell them back out at a higher or at regular price. That is the only excuse I can give them, else they are planning to close their doors soon with this kind of mark up sales.

So we have 60 comments o "Why isn't this live?" and "TRU sucks!"?
Are you people new here? 99% of TRU sales suck online. This isn't new. TRU is good for polybags and minifigures and that's it.
I wonder if this would stack with the clearance in store...

I think they officially changed the name of the sale to: "Buy two - get two marked up - suckers". Notice the cleaverly placed fine print.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
