[Amazon] Fire Brigade 10197 - $119.00

Post by pterribilis » Fri Feb 01, 2013 2:38 am

Suprised no one else posted about this deal :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002O0 ... g=tonbr-20" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Image

It only allows you to order two. Wonder if this is an indication of them being retired finally.

Has this set been 119 for over a month, or did it go up then back down?

(it was posted on around the turn of the year viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7829&p=63737#p63737" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

Thanks for the heads up!

Sorry, didn't see that. I only got the notification of the price at 7:32pm in the movers and shakers category on my Amazon RSS feed.

How are you guys getting your 0 day notifications?

Oh no, I wasn't saying it was a repost, I was just saying it was posted/that price a month ago was all, and was wondering if it it's went up in between.

Yes it was back to $149.

Remember if you are in AZ, Amazon charges tax starting today.

It was at $149 for a week or so...it's been $119 the rest of January.

Keep an eye out for used ones. When its $119 they have "used" ones from Amazon Warehouse deals occasionally for $102 or $96. If you don't care about a mint box it makes the deal even better.

When they say used, do they mean openned and play with used, or simply just damaged boxes?

The one I ordered which was called "used - good" was merely a damaged box. I believe that has been very consistent so far I haven't heard of anyone getting one that was actually used.

I found this odd, that Target.com is now selling the Fire Brigade over MSRP at $174.99.

So I picked up the Fire Brigade from my friendly neighbourhood package service recently and found that the box was unsealed. Not cut open, it just looks like the tape wasn't very sticky. So I'm wondering, is anyone able to verify the box contents for me? I don't care that it's unsealed since I plan to build it, just want to make sure it's complete ASAP, but also haven't had time to build it. In the box are:

10 bags labelled "1"
9 bags labelled "2"
2 large gray plates with studs
1 smaller smooth plate
1 long yellow pole-type piece
2 instruction books

There are a hell of a lot of pieces and I looked at stuff like mini-figures and other pieces and it seems complete... anyone able to verify? Thanks!

Or should I fuss to Amazon about it? Not too eager to do it since being in Canada, it complicates dealing with it.

hmm, good idea... just tried it and mine weighs 2814g... 53g more than what Bricklink says. I have another sealed Fire Brigade but I don't really want to crack it open just to compare the contents. That one weighs 2832g. So worried that one small bag of parts is missing.

If something is missing you should be able to order replacement parts from Lego at no charge

Always check brickset for your answers. When it comes to Lego stats, they are the best.

I didn't want to start a new thread just for this, so figured it could go with this as The Deals That Were...

Anybody else nearly sprain something lately looking at the Amazon Discounts page today? It's still there now, pretty high up... *Sigh* It's more like the killer deal of 2011.
