Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
Does anyone know if Spring Clearance has started? Last year, I found some flagship Summer 2011 sets half off! Hoping to find some 2012 stuff half off this year.
Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
I've noticed a few of my Walmarts are starting to move sets to the clearance aisle, this week in one store the GS Vermin Vaporizers were re-shelved to clearance but still scan at full retail price.
With the Lone Ranger sets coming soon, I would imagine re-shelving would be happening sometime before the first of the month, whether or not that will mean your local store has slashed prices remains to be seen

I'm also in NJ, but up north. How many of each set was there? Would you mind picking up some sets for me and I will repay you? or we could work out a trade? I am mostly interested in the star wars and superheroes, but I'm open to others at that price.hayhay wrote:Piscataway, New Jersey, May 23rd.

Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
dumb question - where do you find clearance lego at walmart? is it with the lego or is there a separate clearance section? thanks

Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
It can be mixed in with the normally priced Lego (sometimes not marked if in the regular aisle), or in a separate clearance aisle usually near home and garden.

Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
Found several Mirkwood spiders on 30% clearance today, and snagged one. Saw a couple of Weathertops at 30% as well, but didn't bite on those.
Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
I found them in the clearance section near counters except Dino T-Rex Hunter with other legos.regdent wrote:dumb question - where do you find clearance lego at walmart? is it with the lego or is there a separate clearance section? thanks

Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
I've been dying to get my hands on the Batcave, but everywhere in my area (RI/MA) it's full price of $69.99. Availability is scattered amongst the various Wal-Mart's and Target's in my area.

Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
One of the Wal-Mart's in my area (RI/MA) has been cleaning out their stockroom, and apparently have a HUGE backstock of Lego sets from the past few years hidden in there. About a month ago I came across several brand new Harry Potter Knight Bus sets, and yesterday I managed to make another decent score:
2 Lego Toy Story 3 Western Train Chase ($39.99 each)
Lego Cars Mack's Team Truck ($20)
Lego Duplo Cars Mack's Road Trip ($33)
Boba Fett Slave 1 Set ($63)
There were also a ton of Lego World Racer's and Pharaoh's Quest sets, but for whatever reason they weren't really marked down. This was a sidewalk sale type of event, and the gentleman working outside said they have a lot of overstock and plan on doing this for the next few weeks. He said he's not sure what they have in the stock room, but that they have a lot of stuff they need to unload. I'm going to keep checking back, because it looks like they've got a lot of investment or resell worthy sets coming out of that room!

Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
If it makes you feel any better, I had a (horribly time consuming) fail yesterday at a WalMart on Main Street in Pearland, TX.
First off, they've removed all of the price scanners in store except for one buried in clothing an another all the way over by grocery. In short, they're about as far from any sort of Legos as you can get. I also ran across no less than 3 different people who lamented this fact and then told me that another department nearby but not them could help scan items.
First, I found the Quinjet and Hulk's breakout. They have at least 3 each at the store. Great! After seeing some of the recent posts, this could be a hidden gem! So I set to work, trying to find scanners. However, as I said above- all but a couple fairly far away were removed. Better yet is that the signs above where the scanners used to be had not been removed. So I went from price scanner sign to price scanner sign and still came up empty.
However, I couldn't find anyone to scan the items anywhere nearby who didn't have a line at them and I didn't want to be lugging these sets in a line to wait for 10 minutes. One of the guys spoke of a mythical possibly working scanner still over in grocery so I went all the way over there and found one. On the way back, I found the second one that was only halfway across the store.
So I drag the two Super Heroes sets over to it. No luck- both still at retail price. So, anyone wanting to pay $70 for a Quinjet- go for it! Sigh.
I was also looking for Monster Fighters and went by the clearance aisle. Buried in amongst the other stuff were a pair of Crazy Scientist and Monster marked from $50 down to $35 and a Vampyre Hearse marked from $35 down to $25 (Oh! And some SW Advent Calendars for $30! When TRU is beating you in the Lego markdown game, you need to just stop trying). However, the boxes were pretty badly dinged up on all 3. I was hopeful as the price stickers on them were dated early May. But when I went to scan them, they hadn't dropped further: still $25 and $35 so I passed.

Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale
I had a very similar situation! My Walmart in Nashville, TN also seems to have removed its scanners. I picked up a few Lego items and walked all over the store. I never even found one in the grocery section so I gave up and put the items back. It was quite a disappointment.

Get the walmart app for your phone--it has a built in scanner.
