[USA] Walmart Clearance Sale

My Walmart app seems to work fine, but I still scan in-store just to be safe... you can't trust technology 100%. A lot of times I am scanning physical sets in teh store and the app will read "not carried at store bla bla bla", I'm standing here holding Walmart App!!!

Mine was working until yesterday when I decided to update the app to the latest version...

I think that's our problem. We all updated the WalMart app, and therefore it does not update the prices of the items in store. I tried to look at rolling my WalMart app back to an earlier version, and it does not look like it can happen, at least it can't happen on iPhone 5. Maybe someone knows how to roll back an app to an earlier version without having a jail-broken phone.

According to a google search, you can revert back to a previous version of the app by deleting it and then synching your iphone to your computer, which should have the older version.

This won't work if you have the updated app on your iTunes. Look in your trash for an older version if its there and move it to the folder where the newer version is. You might be able to find the ipa file online for an older version as well.

My girlfriend's Galaxy S4 still works with scanning method. I took my camera on my last scouting trip to Walmarts and photographed some barcodes I want to keep an eye on. Now I just scan them from my monitor or a piece of paper I have at home and everything pops up in the area just fine.

The pricing looks dead on. but the stock status indicator seems to be unreliable though. Some are marked OOS even at stores I ended up seeing a couple at when I went, and Limited Stock generally means it's gone or in the clearance section.

Man, I keep checking here hoping for good news. Last year it seems QARs were falling out of the rafters by now. Soon, though, right? Sadly most Walmarts I've been to don't even have any Helms Deep to sell me for half off.

I found a helms deep in the clearance section at WalMart in Clearwater, FL. The box was bit dinged up, but it rang up at full price ($130), so it went back on the shelf.

The Lampasas Texas Walmart has about six of 4191 for $9.00 and about six 4192 for $15.00. Impressive for the age of the sets. I picked up two of each months ago, and it appears no one else has bought any since I did last. There is also one 9472 for $40.00.

YMMV update: Mirkwood was red tagged for $22, Wargs for $48 (seriously). That's it so far. Oddly, there was a new red tag on shelf in the SW section, but it was for the Vampyre Castle at $69. It wasn't there a week or two ago, maybe they got in another shipment, maybe the tag was just auto-generated...?

Checked north attleboro, walpole, seekonk, and swansea--no clearance at all. Tons of monster fighters and old super hero stuff that should be.

This is much more common than you think.

There are at least 3 or 4 Walmarts near me out of the 12 or so that routinely place items in the clearance section, with a red tag, that till reflects full retail price.

Clearance section is simply a place to put things that are over stocked or are no longer listed on the new planagram.

If the store doesn't have "clearance money" from corporate it doesn't get reduced. What magical formula is used to determine which stores receive it? Only the Walmart gods know.
