I checked 5 or 6 walmarts yesterday and only found one lonely ambulance set. Everything else was cleaned out. Old Lord of the Rings, Monster Fighters and super heroes all scanned full price.

I was really hoping to find a recycling centre. A week before christmas, the shelves at the local walmart were overflowing with that set and now I couldn't find a single one anywhere.

Checked out 4 Wal-Marts in my area, 3 yesterday, one today.

Yesterday, I was able to get the following at 50% off:
1 Recylcling Truck
3 Ewok Attacks
2 T-Rex Hunters
2 Ninjago Fangpyre Truck Ambush (I think, I know it was a $50 Ninjago set for $25)

All of those were obtained at the first store I went to. The other two were cleaned out of almost all Lego except for some City stuff which does not interest me much.

This morning I hit the 4th and got the following for 33% off:
2 Mines of Moria - $54
2 Weathertop - $40
1 Ghost Train - $54
(Also got the last Mandalorian battle pack for $6.)

Probably at least 4-5 more of each of those big sets left as well. May hit the store again on the way home.

There is absolutely no need for such antagonism and envy in this topic. The fact that this is in the YMMV forum means not everyone will see the same deals. I, too, have not the means to take advantage of such a sale even if I regularly encountered such sales (it has happened in my area, but not on a regular basis), but you don't see me lamenting it all over the place.

If this topic depresses or annoys you, the simple act of not reading it should suffice. If there are any more antagonistic responses here, or anywhere for that matter, disciplinary measures will have to be taken.

Thanks for the heads up. I went yesterday and found the same deals that people here have posted. No Dino HQ and most of the shelves were cleared. I was able to get one t-rex trapper. There was one left on the shelf when I left. I also saw two triceratops sets half off-but like vynsane I don't have the resources to buy it at the moment. I'm glad I got a t-rex. The wal-mart in Putnam, CT is where I went and since is was yesterday everything could be gone. Happy hunting.

I've only managed to visit 1 Wal-Mart (Rolling Meadows) so far, and it was pretty cleaned out. I picked up 1 Ewok Attack, 2 Mandalorian Battle Packs, 1 Friends Cafe and half box of Ninjago Bytar Booster Packs. The T-Rex set sitting on the shelves had been ripped open as had the Ninjago Ultra Sonic Raider. None of them were marked - I had to scan everything. I left one lone Anakin Skywalker clock sitting in the clearance aisle - the box was a bit beat up but the clock looked fine.

EDIT: Oh, I should mention - the store had several MF Ghost Trains in stock for $54.00. I picked it up before Christmas for a similar price, so I didn't find it noteworthy, but it seems in-line with what other people are finding. Also, Attack on Weathertop for $40.00, as well, which ditto.

That's quite the find! I was really looking for a Destiny's Bounty at the $35 price but no such luck- interested in parting with yours? ;-)

I did manage to find a City Dump Truck for $9.50 and a Clone Battle Pack for $6, plus 4 polybags for $1.50 each. Definitely happy with that, but most of the other stuff had all been cleared out, so I'm regretting not going earlier. I did see a Jabba's Palace for $80, but I already have it so I didn't bite. Pretty much all of the Metro-Detroit Walmarts have been cleared out. Happy hunting everyone!

Maybe the other person you quoted is a bit immature, but I however am not envious in anyway. Tell me what was so wrong with what I said? Nothing, I was simply sharing my experience with going to Walmart, not saying anything negative towards the poster of the picture, other than the word unfair. Yes I know area may vary, I have over 3 years Retail experience and know exactly how Sales and Clearance works.

Also, I already own and can still find what SW items are in his picture, all except the obvious MTT Polybag which is the only root of my anger and again was not directed at him.

You snooze you lose, really. With that discount, the shelves will get wiped out within hours. My dollars are just as good as yours. I enjoyed the hunts, being excited to see what were awaiting, a big surpirse or a huge disappointment. I hunted Dino theme specifically this year. I left all the City sets and many SW sets (Pod racers, Sith Infiltrator, Battle Packs...) untouched, literally over a hundred of them. I missed out on the minifigs though, and unable to find any Destiny's Bounty set. I went back to one Walmart I visited yesterday today hopeful for some minifigs, and saw a guy clearing out 5,6 large City Space Shuttle sets. I mean it's one whole day already, and some people may still find some goodies, all depending on luck.

Oh, my first post. Hello everyone! :-D

I think anything left on the shelf after 1-2 days of clearance is fair game to anyone, hoarders, resellers, whoever. No one should expect clearance like this to last any longer than that. The hunt is part of these sales, hitting up 20+ targets and walmarts on the day after christmas makes people think you are crazy

Thanks for the heads up on the items to look for! I picked the Walmart Lego aisle clean of everything that was leftover from the holidays that no one wanted.

Much to my wife's despise, I hit a couple off the beaten path Wal-Marts today and buyer's guilt is setting in. I left tons of stuff behind, including lots of minifigs. I saw a couple Millenium Falcon's over the past couple days and was seriously thinking about biting at the $99.97 price point, but I guess patience paid off. I've been putting off buying some of these bigger sets. I included a pic and you can see my delivered Creator Hillside House and the free Hobbit Elf polybag from TRU in the lower right.

I saw a guy at my local store clearing off the shelf and taking all the Recycle Centres. Luckly I put 2 in my cart first. :-D I saw lots of them in other stores later in the day, so keep looking you may still find one.

We got two recycling trucks @ $15 , 2 Kai's blade cycles @ $7 , and several ghost trains at $54.

We found one sealed CMF pouch for a dollar. We asked the inventory checker to scan to see how many they *should* have.. they said 45. Nothing brings a family together like scouring the hurricaned toy section looking for black little pouches. Our hour long easter hunt yielded 6 sealed pouches, and 4 vandalized wrappers.

I love the Walmart in Zanesville. They have managed to make it to another Christmas clearance with Space Police at MSRP :D The boxes have been smashed and crushed, and yet they still survive!

haha!

the Madera Walmart has been clinging to a Prince of persia set for three years at full MSRP. We should have a contest to see who has the oldest set at their walmart.

hehe I ran into 3 Hagrids huts in november at Walmart in south pittsburgh. not quite as old as prince of persia but I was pretty excited when they rang up at $16. Think they found a case in the back.

dunno where you are in PA but I can message you with several locations that still have lots of 50% off stock.
South Central PA is pretty dry, but Pittsburgh and Philly have many stores flooded with clearance product.
