If the Podracers are normally $39.99, shouldn't they be marked that price now if there are any in stock?
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Target, however, has a strict policy of not price matching Target.

And what is that "All other..." etc at the bottom supposed to mean? I'm guessing not much. Drives me crazy when a store calls a dollar or two off a sale.

Just scouted the Target nearest me, at least a dozen Podracers on the shelf but only 3 of The Zombies, planning to get there early and hope for the best.

Someone messed up somewhere with this discount. I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow because the podracers set is not worth the MSRP at all, but for 30 bux I'll bite.

Also, does anyone know if Target has the physical ad in the store so you can just pick one up? I didnt get the paper this week and I guess they didnt send it in the mail either.

I think it is worth it to pick up the Sunday paper for a couple of bucks to get this flier for price matching.

what's the chance that TRU will counter this price-match with another "email from corporate about the ad being misprinted"?

I bet you get some sort of line about, the ad doesn't list the specific set number, so we can't honor any price match.

I can see TRU saying: "You get two podracers in this set and the ad says $30 each so the total is $60".

You can see the Podracers set number in the picture of the box 7962, and Target is selling the set now for $89.99 as I did buy 5 at Target and will take the receipts back for a price adjustment, and Toy's r us wants $94.99. So getting Toys R Us to price match should be no Problem.

I was gonna try that but the store manager told me they won't adjust prices on things with published sales. Guess I'll just do the doorbuster thing!

Someone should try pricematching the podracer set at Toysrus just to see what BS they throw next. I would applaud them if they actually go through with it without hassle.

I think you are right. Target online shows that their exclusive LEGO Star Wars Anakin's Jedi Interceptor 9494 is on sale for $30 (still a good deal), but the podracer is $66.50 online.

Any east coast people go to the store this morning? If so what is your report?

I just snagged the last 2 at the Target off 183/Great Hills in Austin. One is for me, the other a X-mas gift. They did not seem happy. I would recommend grabbing this one as soon as possible before the sale price gets corrected. Check the store availability before venturing out. In Austin, very few stores carried them and they were regular, not Super, Targets.

What price does it come up as after scanning? Did you have to go to customer service with the ad?

THAT was a half hour ordeal, but with a tremendous amount of effort it worked well! I'd scouted these at my local Target last night so I knew I was in business. When I took them to the register, they scanned at like $85 and change. I pointed out the ad to the cashier, who called over a front-end person. She spent forever on the phone, told me this was the wrong set (!) and to go back to toys and they would explain it. It was marked with a sale price of $85 something on the shelf. When I got back there the toy lady was trying to explain how she understood my confusion (heck yeah) but that the ad stated the $30 sets that were on sale were originally $39. The longer she talked - and the longer she looked at the picture of the box and the set in the ad - the less convinced she became in her own argument. She called the front desk to see if a clarification has been issued by Target concerning the ad - as of 9:00 AM EST there wasn't one. She finally called over yet another manager who looked at the box, looked at the ad, said "Someone really screwed up and give it to him". When she rang it up and handed it over to be, she said through gritted teeth, "Have a merry, merry, merry Christmas". Expect a fight, but stick with it and you'll prevail!
