Not surprising: PotC, Toy Story, Podracers,

surprising: Mining truck. This is my favorite vehicle of the mining line, and I thought it was selling well.

really surprising: amazon is posting the pictures prior to the deal. previous years, it was just a cryptic riddle we had to solve. The economy must be much worse than I had judged. :-(

Well, maybe not a fabulous deal, but I grabbed one. The six minifigs are probably worth $12 alone. So the cost for the rest of the pieces is only $0.048 each. That's pretty good, especially considering there are some good parts in this set: the castle panels, two boats, two nets, some big barrels...

Wow, the mining truck ($22.99) is at 57% claimed in 30 seconds.

EDIT: gone already, after just 2 minutes

Was there little stock to begin with or just many people buying the set since its a "lightning deal"?

Yeah, that would be me. Gah, I hate these things. I'm not even sure we need a Mining Truck, but I panicked and bought one anyway...

I wonder if a lot of people are like me. I got the City Mine during the Wal-Mart deal, and was going to use that for Christmas. Was watching for the Truck when I saw that was one of the deals and at34% off I couldn't resist it to add to the mine. For $65 for both, that makes for a great Christmas combination.

These items were over supplied. I think there was high demand for some of these items, but TLG doubled the needed supply. Amazon and other retailers tries to cut down this inventory. So far so good on the prices.

(Still jealous about Walmart City Mine deal.)

I was lucky enough to get 3 of the City Mines, two were from a TRU price match and I got my free Bricktober minifigs with them too. I got into TRU before they sent out the do not price match alert.

I know! My boss came by at 10:59 and I helped him for less than a minute. I turn back to Amazon and it's all claimed. Sheesh!

I noticed there's a little button for "join waitlist". I don't know what good that does... :what?: Maybe I'll get lucky.

I was able to add an Ewok Attack to my cart by doing the waitlist. You have to keep checking your browser page every now and then and you'll likely see a popup letting you know you can now add it to your cart. They give you a small window of a couple-few minutes to add to your cart, and then 15 minutes to check out with it.

The Ewok Attack works out to more like 40% off. I plan on selling off the figs and keeping the bricks. The two ewok figs are exclusive to this set.

Thank you BrickBuilder for posting this!

I did join the waitlist immediately, but it appears that has expired. Maybe there was something to let me know I went off the waitlist and could get the set, but I didn't see it. But I was on another browser tab for most of the past 30 mins or doing other work, so I could have easily missed it. How does it notify you that you're off the waitlist? I suppose you have to check every few minutes...

Oh well, maybe will try for Podracers depending on how low it goes. My son would probably love that for Xmas.

I love these lightning deals, always feels like the holidays are on the way. Not a lot of sets I want this time around, but fun nevertheless.

The podracers were gone in 5 seconds. Yikes ... How in the world are you supposed to buy these?

Should I add them to my cart and checkout as soon as the timer reaches 0?
