I picked up a sith nightspeeder and used a 5 dollar rewards coupon and free shipping with the TRU credit card total shipped about $24 with tax :) ...still a slight TRU ripoff but i really wanted that darth maul fig, and that sith fig in the nightspeeder set is pretty awesome too!

I go to two TRU stores in the Long Beach area regularly and I have yet to stumble upon this.

If I order online and choose store pickup, will they ship the Maul there?

No, at this time it only shows available to ship when it gets into your cart. You can select the other items for instore pickup, but not the maul. TRU doesn't actually ship things to the stores, but pulls items off the shelves for you, so if they don't carry it instore it will only be available online.

Amazon has price matched, with no tax in most states (and free shipping with Prime or with > $25 total).

I bought Desert Skiff and a Planet set to get the Darth Mail. Then just added a larger set to qualify for free shipping. I'll likely return the larger set to the store. Will they give me a hassle because of the free poly? Maybe, even though the remaining items still qualified with more than $25. But, we'll see. I can always just return the whole lot if it doesn't work.

I think your problem will be that they issue a store credit for online purchases returned instore, if you don;t mind TRU credit instead of your cash back...

I picked up the Passenger Plane, Fishing Boat, and Fire Truck that are on-sale and threw in an Interceptor planet and Search For The Droids to get a free Maul mini-fig as well. I had a couple rewards coupons to use on top of that.

I think your problem will be that they issue a store credit for online purchases returned instore, if you don;t mind TRU credit instead of your cash back...

If you get a sympathetic store manager, they can override that policy and give you your money back.

@pumbaugh I just returned an online purchase to a TRU store the other day and they did a full credit back to my charge card.

In the past you would only get store credit for Ann online purchase return. They must have changed policy recently as my last two online orders were returned to my credit card as well.
