[USA] Wal-Mart clearance items

Post by vynsane » Thu May 13, 2010 8:53 am

There are reports at FBTB and Bricklink that Wal-Mart has a bunch of 2009 items on clearance for 50% or better including Indiana Jones items (reports of 'Ambush in Cairo' for $5), Space Police ('Hyperspeed Pursuit' for $19), Power Miners, Creator, even Star Wars (if you can find it, 'Midi-Scale Millenium Falcon' for $15!!!).

There are mixed results - some people are reporting that they didn't see any mark-downs on some sets, while others have - your mileage may vary.

I'm not sure if this is a clearance deal, but I found the new TS3 lotso dump truck on sale under $15.

Not the WM near me. Too bad, waste of a trip. Will the find in store tell you the if it's on sale or not?

Found the 5974 Galactic Enforcer at one store for $49.99. Also saw a listing at another for $30, but none were on the shelf.

WOAH! Where are you located? Dang, I want the GE so bad...

I didn't find anything on clearance at the closest store to where I am right now (I'm not home, but only an hour away.) I did, however, find the one and only 8092 Luke's Landspeeder (the first time I've seen it in-person) and two of the three 6" Iron Man 2 figures (Mark IV and War Machine - no Mark V "suitcase armor") so it wasn't a completely fruitless venture.

The find in store won't tell you if its on sale. Prices are different instore and varies. But it can let you know if the item is there or not. From this discussion thread, people are getting certain space police, star wars, and so on sets deals. I would go and check them out at walmart.com to see if its in stock. If it is, i'll pay a visit there. Prices are very inconsistent right now and different stores have different clearance prices. One store may have this on sale while the other may not. Scan the price of the item to be sure if its clearance. Hope this helps. :)

Went to Three Walmarts in Northern VA. No deal or clearances at all. Though I was able to pick up 3 Toy Story trucks for 15$ which is normal price. The other two stores did not have any in stock.

Damn I would pay 25$ for that MF.

I checked 3 Wal-Marts in CT and found nothing. On the positive side, I found Atlantis polybag #30040 at Target. I checked 4 of those stores and only 1 had them.

Just when I thought I'd never find any closeout sets at Walmart, I checked yet again today and found one Garage #7642 at half off, so $49 instead of $99. That will go into the cart every time :)
