Pet shop and Fire Brigade are also my Gold Box Deals today - Just got em for $106.01 =D
Re: [USA] LEGO Online Exclusives Sale at Amazon
Seriously? My Gold Box deals always suck. I don't think I've ever bought from one...maybe once... and I spend a TON of money with Amazon, too.podgi237 wrote:Pet shop and Fire Brigade are also my Gold Box Deals today - Just got em for $106.01 =D

Re: [USA] LEGO Online Exclusives Sale at Amazon
Even though I just spent $60 on minifigures last week I just can't bring myself to spend $110 on one (huge) Lego set. Even though I know it's a great deal for awesome sets, they probably would just collect dust with me.
Re: [USA] LEGO Online Exclusives Sale at Amazon
Pet Shop and Fire Brigade are sold out. Now sold by third parties.

Seems like just a couple weeks ago people were excited to get the death star for 10% off.
Then some people were able to get it B2G1F (by working the system). Now it's 16% off with free shipping and no tax.
Patience wins out again.

B2G1 is twice as much of a discount. Of course, then there is tax...lego the hutt wrote:Seems like just a couple weeks ago people were excited to get the death star for 10% off.

B2G1F = up to 33% off = 67% original price
67% ori price + 6% = (67% ori price) x 1.06 = approx. 71% ori price = 29% off. Not bad if all 3 sets were same price.
So yeah, B2G1F was still better. BUT, if there is shipping cost & with typical jacked-up TRU price, maybe not that much better.

Tax...and a bit of shipping cost (though TRU does cover up to 20$ worth of shipping..but that still left 16$ worth you had to pay). But the real kicker was you had to call CS 20 times until you got a CS rep that would let you apply the B2G1F offer to 2 DS and a SSD. Some people had no luck but there were plenty of posts from people who were able to make it work.Edmond Dantes wrote:B2G1 is twice as much of a discount. Between the hassle involved (which is the major factor that you have to take into account), the extra shipping cost and tax, this 16% off offer with no shipping and no tax competes pretty favorably. Not to mention you don't have to spend 800$...

Also to point out the "B2" part of B2G1. This way you only need to buy one.sonofgun1776 wrote:B2G1F = up to 33% off = 67% original price

^ Plus, Amazon has MUCH better customer service than TRU does, if there are any issues, they make it right. Something to be said for that...
Re: [USA] LEGO Online Exclusives Sale at Amazon
No offense, but you guys should post your bad experiences to the walmart thread, not the Amazon thread :) I had to do some back reading to understand these were all walmart sets and not Amazon since its an Amazon thread :) Would hate for people to think some of these stories were based on Amazon and shop elsewhere :)

^ Thanks for pointing that out, I've moved the out of place posts to the right topic.

My R2D2 set from Amazon came damaged. Somebody needs to re-train ups employees on how to handle packages. Now, do I want to go through the process of getting a replacement or just open it.

Re: [USA] LEGO Online Exclusives Sale at Amazon
Couldn't pass up the good discount prices so I was able to pick up the Death Star 10188 set, the Super Star Destroyer 10221 set and the R2-D2 10225 set and a few other sets.
I did miss out on the Town Hall 10224 set and the shuttle Expedition 10231 set but as soon as I click complete the prices drop again but the prices go back up faster so I'm happy with what I was able to get.
