Post by Orangechef » Mon Jul 02, 2012 10:11 pm

Online only and coupons don't work for these as far as I can tell:

$55.96 LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Whitecap Bay 4194
$34.96 LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean The London Escape 4193

$83.96 LEGO Republic Frigate 7964
$48.96 LEGO Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator 7961
$41.96 LEGO Star Wars T-6 Jedi Shuttle 7931
$34.96 LEGO Star Wars Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship 7930

$41.96 LEGO Alien Mothership 7065

Nice find. You're right about coupons though; at the bottom of the Sith Infiltrator page, it reads "Note: This item does not qualify for coupons or promotional discounts unless expressly stated." I assume it's the same for the rest of the sets listed above.

If you do store pickup and are a member, another 10% can be saved methinks.

I tried to order & ship to Hong Kong several times but all of them were canceled...
No coupon used and 1 pc only for 4 sets in each order. Not sure if the discount only work for single item or it is not qualified for international shipping.

BTW if anyone has a chase sapphire preferred visa you can use their internal shop link to earn 10% cash back on B&N purchases.

Update: FAIL they had it as of 2 days ago but apparently took B&N off their list Bleh. If you happen to have a chase Freedom card you can exchange your reward points for a B&N gift card at a 10% discount so $100 gc costs $90. I didn't see an egiftcard available and didn't want to wait for it to arrive but maybe some of you have the time.

Ended up picking up 2 whitecaps, 2 bounty hunter, 1 T-6 jedi shuttle. If only they didn't take down the chase discount!

If you have an Open card from AMEX you can get points from their store. It changes anywhere from 4-6x points.

As an alternative, Amazon has matched the Alien Mothership at $41.96 + free shipping

But I'm pretty sure the store pickup won't honor the on-line price.

Turnf, you should try calling their customer service department and getting them to release the order. Their toll-free number is 1-800-THE-BOOK and if you call it using Skype it's free for you. I've had a LOT of trouble getting B&N to honor discount orders shipped to me here in Taiwan. I've gotten some great deals, but I've almost always had to fight tooth and nail to get them. I think their reluctance is likely due to their losing money on the shipping, since it really is remarkably cheap. And lately their degree of reneging on discounts has gotten worse.

A few tips:
1) Call during the time frame of 9am to 4 pm eastern standard time, in case they want to transfer your call to another department that works shorter hours.
2) If they transfer you to their Sales Audit Department, I suggest having the product information page up in front of you. They might say something like "It says the product does not ship internationally", or some other nonsense that really isn't there.
3) If you're ever using a coupon or discount code (not the case here, but maybe in the future), have the terms and conditions (all the fine print) of the code handy. I've had management there tell me things were written in the T&Cs that weren't really there.
4) Don't be afraid to express your disappointment if you think they're doing something dishonest or not being transparent about how they do business. You might get a giftcard for your trouble.

Good luck.

Any time the product's online description includes "Note: This item does not qualify for coupons or promotional discounts unless expressly stated." coupons will not work. Unless of course it is a Lego-specific coupon, but I don't imagine that's going to happen.

Sadly I'm in the same boat. I only wanted the Black Pearl at first. but ended up getting all the other sets when on discount. No desire for London chase, but if it's 50% I'll get it.

I think the simpler answer is no

since you were not clear on your question, I will elaborate

bn only allows one coupon code during checkout so no stacking of online coupon (that's the true definitely of stacking coupons!)

bn allows stacking of discounts if a legitimate item is on sale already and does not have a coupon code exemption (as explained by another member earlier in this thread)

bn also may not allow stackable discount even if the above crieria are met - in the past they had discount coupon codes that work only off the original price and not off the already discounted price.

They are qualified for international shipping. I had mine shipped today with the 2 PoTC sets. Btw, I live in Australia.

My local BN had a stack of Frigates and Sith Infiltrators (Literally stacked on the floor in the lego section). All were marked 30% off (or 40% off for members). Might be worth checking out in your area. I have already bought these sets for 50% off recently from Wal-mart, otherwise I'd be all over it.

I also found the Sith Infiltrator and Republic Frigate for 30% off in-store and I got the 10% member discount and no sales tax b/c of the Mass Sales Tax Holiday. It was $120 for both sets. You should be able to check your local store with the find it in store feature.

My local BNs still had Pharaoh's Quest sets at full retail a few weeks ago, I guess I should check if they have decided to enter the year 2012 yet.
