This week from June 17 to June 23, Toys R Us will be offering a LEGO sale in which you can get $10 off when you spend $50 or more on LEGO construction sets. Excludes Star Wars, Superheroes, Ninjago, Friends, Technic.

Got an e-mail for 20% of a single item (In store only) for tomorrow, June 21.

Does anyone have a quick list of which items are closest to retail? I don't have a smart phone and can't look up prices at the store.

10 to one this won't stack with the 10 dollar off. The coupon says "Not valid with any other offer for the same product...."

The Ghost Train is not bad at $84.99. $5 more than retail. It will bring it down to $68 with the 20% off coupon. Hoping that the $10 will also stack. I might try tomorrow.

Other than the Mummy and Werewolf sets, all Monster Fighters sets would be under retail with 20% off (the Ghost Train is the lowest markup out of all of them by far, as mentioned above).

Don't bother with any of the LOTR sets other than the Uruk Hai Army- all but that one are over 20% markup.

Seaside House might be a good one for this sale too. TRU price is $5 over retail at $55 (which is a bit high to begin with... $44 after coupon is a reasonable price).

All the LOTR sets dropped in price back to just over MSRP at my TRU 2 days ago. Helms Deep was 139, Moria was 85, gandalf 14, weathertop 65 etc...

You could use a 20% off coupon on those and save a chunk I would think. Not excellent, but better than TRUs normal prices.

Unless those are not considered "regular priced" anymore. The coupon seems to state it won't work on sales items. If the dropped prices are considered the new "regular" price, then it would work. We'll find out today.

My TRU doesn't carry Arcitecture or the modulars, so ended up just getting the batman jet ski. For a couple of bucks it was fine.

Did anyone get the coupons to stack?

On a side note, CMF are down to 3.19. Didn't see a post here on that.

I attempted to use my coupon on the Ghost Train. The $10 discount for Lego Purchase of $50 was automatically applied, then the cashier couldn't add coupon for 20% off. I asked if they could just use the 20% off coupon and not apply the $10 off and the manager said no. I asked for my coupon back and told the cashier to cancel the transaction I didn't want the item and left.

As you discovered, there were quite a few unwritten rules around the use of these coupons.

-Since they were running a sale for $10 off of a $50 or more LEGO purchase, the coupon couldn't be used on tiems over $50 since it was for regular priced items and the items were considered on sale. Even if that meant you'd only get $10 off of a $100 item, a 10% discount vs. the 20% discount the coupon was for.
-The coupon could be used on items selling for less than $50, since the sale price wasn't applied until you hit $50.
-If you attempted to use Rewards Dollars, they took those off and then took the 20% off the final price. So my $20 item (20%=$4 discount) became a $15 item (20% discount became a $3 discount).

I wonder how long it will take for TRU to realize they are turning off some of their biggest customers with their jacked up prices incomprehensible sale/coupon policies. I can't imagine that would be a good thing to do in the long run.

I've had similar experiences with past sales as well. All it means for me is that I go in for special polybag sets and exploit the sales that are really screw ups like the $10 off a $50 coupon that could be applied to 3 items neting you $30 off.
