Save $10 on ANY* total LEGO construction set purchase of $50 or more. (*) And by ANY they mean anything but Friends, Ninjago, Star Wars, Super Heroes, Technic, and "Unbeatable Price" items. Dunno what "Unbeatable Price" items are. I don't think I've ever seen an unbeatable price at TRU - except the Winter Post Office set perhaps. Looks like the promo code is working on everything right now. Hulk comes up as $49.99 in my cart. TIE Fighter comes up as $49.99.

Actually now I am not sure what is happeneing...the more I add...the more discounts I get...looks like 10 for almost every 50...added 2 hulk sets and 2 wolverine sets for 133 total...small discount on just released lego

^ I noticed this, too. It seems to take off $10 each item, giving around 20% off for most thing.
But, it's not doing this for everything.... the exclusions mentioned ... such as Friends and Funhouse Escape. (and other items on sale: Bentley's Bust Out).

If this had stacked w/ BOGO50, like some previous overlapped deals, this might actually be worth something. As it is, the 'sale' is just bringing the price of sets like Hulk Breakout down to MSRP. Pfffffft.

This is very strange, must be a bug. The deal works kinda like this after entering the code.

$10 off any $50+ set in your basket
Strange discount on some sets under $50 in your basket

However, if you try to hit the $100 threshold for free shipping, you pay full price for any extra sets. When you have to payback on shipping, your not really saving much afterwards.

If you can do store pickup, best combination I found was Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout $49.99 + Loki's Cosmic Cub $11.99 + Wolvernine's Chopper Showdown $11.99. Retails at $89.97 so $74 is not bad for some new sets (17.7% off before tax).

*This is only if you can do store pickup and the store near you have it. If its not near you, its probably not worth the hassle and time especially when gas is like $4+ per gallon.

Can we just start a "Mock TRU's sale thread"? I bet it would have the most posts out of any other thread.

I took my son to TRU yesterday to get some MegaBloks Power ranger stuff (sorta like lego but cheesier). We got there and they had 50 of the expensive set and nothing else. (also, we were signed up for the TRU birthday club and they used to send out $3 certificates to be used around the kids birthdays. This year, zilch) Needless to say we had to go to the WalMart across the street and get the stuff he wanted. I should have saved the trip.

This code is definitely glitched. It will take off $10 each on 3 items as long as they total $50. I added 6865, 6866 and 6867 for $29 before shipping.

wow! thanks neomonkey! i was going to skip the entire thread until i saw your post. turns out TRU is the best deal there is. shoprunner works too! so i get free shipping on the sets plus $10 off each 3! you need to keep to 3 though. i got the latest sw bps and a loki cube. all 3 ship free via shoprunner.

going to get more!

those without shoprunner can try store pickup too. TRU is open easter sunday! what a great sale!

Still, the 3 at other stores would be around $53. Won't get sweeter than this.

I suggest folks do pick up in store and get in and get out today. Once Toys R Us realizes, the shipment orders will be cancelled I'm sure. Any thoughts on that?

I'm wondering if they could catch it at the level of gathering the items in the store and then deny me when I show up...I'd be heated, gas being where it's at.

Honestly, I think they will be canceled, but my local store doesn't have the sets I want - and I think my family would take it badly if I trekked all over the place today looking for sets instead of preparing Easter dinner (as tempting as that is)!
