Target sale 3/25 - 3/31

Post by dho7622u » Sun Mar 25, 2012 5:14 am

The following things are on sale for the week. The asterisks (*) note "temporary price cuts" that probably are available in store. The rest are listed as "online sale" so they may not transfer to the B&M.

There are are some DUPLO sales as well, but I don't follow the DUPLO line....sorry.

In some cases, the $50 dollar free shipping thing might work, but depends on the set, I guess...

[USA] Target B&M Sale March 25-31

Post by atmail35 » Sun Mar 25, 2012 8:41 am

I just went through the Target ad:

$15 for City Ambulance 4431 (msrp $19.99) 25% off
$15 for Ninjago Starter Set 9570 (msrp $19.99) 25% off
$18 for Creator Propelor Adventures 7292 (msrp $19.99) 10% off
$18 Duplo Creative Sorter
$12.99 Friends Stephanie's Convertible (msrp $14.99) -13% off

other sets are on sale which usually translates to 5 to 10% off.

Don't forget to get a raincheck if you see something out of stock, they often honor the discount on another "like" (i.e. LEGO) item. So the 25% off ones would be great if OOS as you should be able to pick up another set for 25%.

I had posted this earlier, can someone please merge the two topics?

I listed all the online sales.

Thanks!

Sorry about that, I didn't scan the list of topics carefully enough before posting and running out to Target ;-)

PS I hope you don't mind, I changed your title so people know it's both B&M and on-line.

The Cool Cruiser definitely was not $21.50 B&M. I wasn't shopping for it, but the highest discounts on Creator in store were 5-10%.

That's an awesome price for the Cool Cruiser. Remember there's a $5 off $50 coupon on RetailMeNot you can use to save even more money!

After seeing dho7622u's post about the Cool Cruiser, I picked up two of those and a Butterfly Beauty Shop for $55 plus tax after the $5 off $50 and my Red card 5%...that's almost 50% off !

Does the rain check work on already discounted sets (i.e. rattlecopter)?

I was trying to use the raincheck on another item and the cashier stopped me by doing so. (It was first scanned but shown no price decrease then when the cashier double check and found out about the item isn't matching)

I would definitely appreciate it if someone can help.

The rainchecks usually state take the same % off the REGULAR (non-sale) price of another similar item or something to that effect. I am guessing that the cashier may have to enter it in by hand. Recently though, Target has been doing "instant substitutes" instead. Meaning they pick another set and give the same discount on that set, so no raincheck on the original set/same % off on another set of your choice.

Some Targets will do the instant substitute for the same percentage right on the shelf. Where this is most valuable is when they do something like the 25% on a sub $20 set...with the 5% off Redcard discount, these tend to be great deals.

One I saw last Winter was this deal on a price match from WalMart. I think I ended up getting a bunch of Isla de Muertas for $9 or $10. Sadly, my local Target seemed to do about 14 cents off as a "price match" for a bunch of OOS sets this week.

I obtained a raincheck for Oliva's House which was 15% off. The rain check says, "Choose a substitute" "Get the same % off on a similar, regular priced item. Exclusions apply. Cannot be used on music, movies, software, tablets, game systems, notebooks. Apple Products. All gift cards."

I read this to be that I could get another LEGO set at 15% off since it says "similar, regular priced".

To get the raincheck you can pull one of the pieces of paper that they stick by the shelf tag for the OOS item, have the cashier scan it and it will print out the rain check on a receipt paper. To be honest, I've never actually tried to redeem the raincheck in the past. They give you about 6 weeks to use it.

It sounds like maybe they don't actually do the choose a substitute often so maybe some cashiers don't know how to ring it in? I would grab the raincheck/receipt copy and take it to the customer service desk and explain that you are getting a "similar, regular priced item" and want 25% off or whatever on it and see if that works.
