Not necessary the greatest "Steal of a Deal" per se, but decided to stop by my local LEGO store today to see what sales deals they might have left. After looking around a bit I spotted a LEGO City Fire Truck 7239 (2005) for $18 + tax. Probably the same price as what I could have gotten one for from Bricklink, but at least I saved the cost of shipping (and the cost I paid at the LEGO store was definitely less than what would have paid if I had tried to snag one from eBay). While I was there I also picked up a Winter Village Post Office (10222) that was on sale $56 (20% off) -- Again, not the best deal, but LEGO doesn't normally do much in the way of discounts on the Winter Village sets. Still, 20% discount is better than paying full price.

After X-Mas Clearance Spree

Post by pushpin » Sat Dec 31, 2011 7:44 pm

Mill Village Raid - $35 @ Walmart
Series 5 CMFs - $1.50/each @ Walmart (I got 6 evil dwarfs :D )
Imperial V-Wing - 2 @ $9/each @ Walmart
City Police Chase - $12.40 @ Walmart
King's Carriage Ambush - $15 @ Kmart - ordered this with store pick-up.. haven't had a chance to pick it up, hopefully they actually have it.
Atlantis Exploration HQ - 2 at $19/each @ Kmart

I'm still on the hunt for the AC Earth Defense HQ at clearance prices and waiting for the PQ Scorpion Pyramid price to drop but pretty content with my finds. Hopefully it keeps me busy until LOTR comes out in the summer.

Wow... now that is a Steal. Nice pickup
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Just bought King's Castle from a local toy store that has a 20% Lego clearance coupon out. Nice deal for $80. Considering this set is appreciating quickly, I'm considering going back to grab the other 3(?) they still have in stock.

Bought 4 Harry Potter sets (brand new and sealed) off Craigslist for $120.00.

4841-1: Hogwarts Express
4842-1: Hogwarts Castle
4738-1: Hagrid's Hut
4840-1: The Burrow

But still not as good as the 12 Star Wars sets for $60 score back in the summer. I love Craigslist!!

I picked up 2115 Bonezai and 2520 Ninjago Battle Arena for $31.77 after taxes, reduced to $11.77 after a $20 gift card. I also picked up two CMF5s for $0 after using my TrU Rewards.

It's hit or miss. Mostly miss lately. There was a 100 lbs of LEGO for $200 that I missed out on a few months ago. That still haunts me. There's a lot of LEGO activity in this area - especially among resellers.

It's hard to compete against them. :\

What haunts me is that I saw the infamous LEGO Airport Shuttle (monorail) for a whopping $50 on Craigslist! Not only does this come with the monorail set itself, it also came with a fe tubs of sorted LEGO. Unfortunately, I did not act quick enough.

Picked up a 25+ pound tub of LEGO for $20 at a garage sale this weekend.

Included the following sets...
7723 - Police Seaplane [City] - missing figure
7630 - Front-End Loader [City] - missing figure
7631 - Dump Truck [City] - missing figure
7746 - Single-Drum Roller [City] - missing figure
7685 - Dozer [City] - missing figure
7739 - Coast Guard Patrol Boat & Tower [City] - missing the pier + figures
3221 - LEGO Truck [City]
8291 - Dirt Bike [Technic]
4997 - Transport Ferry [Creator]
4998 - Stegosaurus [Creator]
6754 - Family Home [Creator] - missing over 50% though
7623 - Temple Escape [Indiana Jones]

Plus a box of loose brick from other incomplete sets.

Only bummer is that most of mini-figs were missing and no instruction booklets. Not the best find on this forum but it was my best score so far.

I think that is a pretty good haul, aimlesspursuits! You should be proud of your bloodhound abilities to sniff out a good yardsale. Very Jealous.
