With Wal-Mart they usually don't keep slashing prices like Target does. I've never figured out a rhyme or reason to the random sales they have. (Ex: During Christmas they will have a sale price, then for a few days offer a bigger discount, then back up to the regular sale price, and eventually back to MSRP).

Their Clearance really only gets knocked down one time, and the best I've usually seen is 50% (like after this past Christmas), but even that is rare. Normally its like 20-35%. Heck... the Clearance isn't even as low sometimes as they at one time sold a set. I remember getting 2 Frosh Rush games for $7.50 each during a sale... they now sit in the Clearance Isle at $11 each. Best suggestion is to pull the trigger if the discount is low enough for you, as it most likely won't go any lower before getting bumped back to MSRP before they eventually pull it from the shelves entirely.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

I went to a few walmarts and found a handful of clearance. I picked up:

5 Creator Dune Hopper @ $5 each
1 Police Helicopter @ $5
1 Isle De Muerta @ $9
2 Creator Transport Truck @ $9 each
1 Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout @ $25 (thanks to intromission)
1 Wolverine Chopper @$9 (again thanks to intromission)
1 The Burrow @ $47 (not a steal, but a cool find nonetheless)
1 Fire Temple @ $95 (again not a steal, but I wanted it)

Midwest is still not participating in this round of sales as far as I have experienced (around 7 different walmarts)

Not my local one. They always go down. It is being there when they go from 20% to 50% because they disappear instantly. I cannot remember all the times that I decided to "just go tomorrow" or "I'll go afterwork", have the price change done, and miss out on tons of awesome deals. Happened last week on a non-Lego item. I was so disappointed at my laziness.

Alma Walmart in MI has some sets on clearance. They marked them down 5-21 or 5-22. They had POTC pretty much 30% off on every thing they had. They had the Creator log cabin and I think all the HP sets they had on the shelf marked down the same 30%. I got POTC 4181, 4184, 4191, 4192, and 4195. The only other POTC set they had was 4182 The Cannibal Escape, but I didn't get that one. After I got mine, there was still 1 Black Pearl and 2 Queen Anne's Revenge left. That's why I went ahead and got them at the 30% off instead of tempting fate by waiting for 50% off and ending up empty handed. I'm still waiting for this Walmart to mark down some of the bigger Star Wars sets..... podracers, Millennium Falcon, and Republic Frigate.

Are you all who are finding the deals finding them on a clearance rack or are you just pulling them off the regular shelf and price checking? Only once at my local Walmart have I found a set on the regular shelf that scanned for a discount....and that was around Christmas. I was just curious as to how the deals are set up/ presented at your local walmarts.

oops..... Yeah, that should have said 5-20 or 5-21. Just got back from a 2 week vacation, guess my brain wasn't quite done with it's vacation yet. :) I was in the same store on Sat and nothing was marked down.

@Jeremyp4: These were all in the regular lego aisle and the clearance was marked on the shelves and on the boxes.

Thanks for the info... I'm going to go check again soon to see if any mark-downs have shown up.

Here's what I found today in the Old Forest Road Wally World in Lynchburg, VA:

Several POTC sets on sale.
The $13 zombie set was $7.
Cannibal Escape, $21.
The Mill ($40) wasn't on sale at all.
The Ships, Black Pearl and QAR, were $69 and $79 respectively.

Also, Rise of the Sphinx and Cursed Cobra Statue were both $10 off.
They had some Marvel sets, but all were MSRP. :(

Nice! I've been looking for one of these on sale for what seems like forever.

Where did you find it?

For the first time in a really long time, my main Walmart has a few sets on clearance (all HP):
Hogwarts (the $50 one) for $35
Knight Bus for $25
Forbidden Forest for $7

I didn't buy any, but am tempted to get the Hogwarts (7 minifigs.)

Also, my Kmart has 3 sets of Ramses Pyramid (game) for $10 each. They've been there for a long time. Worth buying?

Ramses Pyramid is great for base plates. The rest is just made up of tan 2X4 and 2x8s. I made a minfigure platform for the collectibles out of the bricks. But that is about it in there.

They just came out, at least in relation to the rest you mentioned... why wouldn't they be MSRP?

Because someone earlier reported that some were 50%-60% off. I found all Super Hero sets to be regularly priced as well.
