I didn't even think of looking for Diagon Alley - oh well. I already have 3 Death Stars, so I didn't need to add 2 more to the mix, even though the price was so good!

Thanks for all the tips here folks. I think I am going to save up for the May the Fourth Be With You event. The exclusive minifig they are giving away w/ $75 purchase looks pretty cool (Shadow ARF trooper.)

I was planning on going to bed and got lucky. You really have to be on your game.

FYI- as this is newer to me. I think you can pretty much plan on big deals from now on the week/day of a MAJOR holiday online and for that matter in store with TRU. Its a great way to get really deal on the HARD TO FIND items.


PS- Do you think Walmart and Target will have the poly bags 50% off tomorrow? Hope so! Good luck everyone.

Surprisingly, everything was game for this round of sales.

Death Star was in stock for at least a week, and actually lasted a few minutes into the bogoho sale :o. They even ADDED Diagon Alley a day before the sale. The big sets were mostly instock at one point or another, allowing some people to get very good deals, Imperial Flagship, Fire Brigade, Grand Emporium, Imperial Shuttle, Motorized Excavator, were all fair game in this sale.

I thought about getting the tantative UCS but had second thoughts as the set really doesn't do it for me.

Just wanted to share my experience yesterday.... at one point (about 5pm EST), diagon alley came back in stock. I had it in my cart with a tantive, but after TAXES, TRU's markup and shipping (they only took off up to $20 for shipping, then the balance was due), it just wasn't worth the impulse buy. I added 2 tantives, and the price after taxes and all, they were each $133 and some change, not really much of a bargain!

Interesting observation: the death star does not come up in their inventory anymore, so they must be completely out of it for the time being.

This is exactly my experience...$135 for each tantive wasn't worth it. I have a feeling tantives aren't that popular and will go on clearance sometime.

I was so upset that the code wasn't allowing me to buy 2 death stars, I sure wasn't going to get the tantive on a lack luster price :(
