[USA][B&N] Variable Coupon

Post by Mantisking » Thu Mar 31, 2011 6:51 am

I got an e-mail today from B&N containing a variable coupon that ranges from 10% - 50% off depending on which version you have. Anyone else get one yet?

Yep, I got one. But based on the terms and conditions it won't work on Legos. I also tried it with several sets online and it wouldn't work.

my code is 15%...I tried it online with a non-Lego item to see the discount. I wonder if it could be used in-store on Lego (like the Kids Club one), although 15% is not that great. Can a link be posted to a 50% off coupon if anyone finds it?

What's the number under the bar code on your coupon?

501971 but if you put something in your cart you can apply your coupon to see the value, just pick some other random item and go to the cart and then apply it and a discount should show up. I took a Melissa and Doug Puzzle. The coupon then changes to 5VK3AY which must be the generic one for 15%.

I bet the 50% will show up on SD...when I click the link for the printable in store coupon it looks generic.

Edited: to fix code for what he was asking for ;)

Sorry, I meant the code on the in-store.

I found this on SD....they claim it is 50% off...I'll go try it today if I have time and report back :)

It says it is for a "non-member" per SD:

I used the coupon that I linked to up thread for 50% off. The lady said congratulations ;)

My printer printed it kind of fuzzy so I was nervous it wouldn't scan. They had to punch in the code the other sales guy said, "wows you are the second lady to get 50% off."

I got the City Mobile Police unit as I was nervous to try it on a more expensive set, trying not to be too suspicious. ;)

I can confirm that the 50% coupon linked above works in store. Went to my local B&N and picked up Rise of the Sphinx (7326). Thought about getting the big police headquarters, but the PQ sets have pieces and colors I need/use more often for MOCing.

Mantisking - do you know if Chestnut Hill, MA carries Lego? thanks!

I happened to be near a second B&N so I went in to see what they had available. I ended up getting the Space Shuttle 3367 for $15 plus tax. I'm tempted to go back to the same store tomorrow but I'm afraid they will recognize me.

Last time B&N had this coupon, I went one day with my son and another day by myself and to a different cashier. Since the coupon isn't tied to an account, you should be able to pull it off. 8-)

Umm. I have no idea. It's been a while since I've been in that B&N. The store in Framingham does though.

I used the 50% off coupon without any problem.

For non-members use this

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/email/nav ... =37767&r=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And for members use this

I was reading the Slickdeals thread and someone suggested ordering a cup of coffee and paying for your item at the cafe register if you think the main register folks recognize you.

The restrictions are very bland... One could view it as "One coupon, per customer, to be used at any location, period." or could be viewed as One Coupon, Per Customer, at any store, PER visit.

I usually just try to find different cashiers / times of day to use the coupons multiple times. I also have multiple B&N's so I usually will start off going to my in town one in the morning, drive over to Mobile, hit up the B&N on the way there, hit up TRU and Target, then hopefully hit up the B&N on the way back, and then by that time, there is usually a shift change, so my original B&N is able to get hit up again =)

Don't forget that if you're a member you can get an extra 10% off in addition to the coupon discount. =) I love B&N roulette sales =)
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Has anyone gotten the 50% code (502001) to work online?

I have tried using it for Legos, DVDs, and board games and it hasn't worked for any of them.

This is the message that I get:
"The coupon code you entered is invalid. Please check the code on your coupon and re-enter it."

Has anyone had any success?

Dan

The coupon code 502001 is good IN-store only. To get the 50% on-line you needed a unique code from a B&N e-mail. The code would not work online for Legos anyway as they are excluded online.

I read the Slickdeals thread last night and no one really reported using it online. Some people did report placing an on-line order through the store's customer service desk and taking the receipt and paying at the register w/ the coupon but YMMV.
