[USA] LEGO at Aldis
Not sure if this is national but my local Aldis had some LEGO sets there for cheap discount.
Hoth Imperial Battlepack $9
Freeco Speeder $18
Knight's Showdown $5
Deep Sea Striker $15
Super Speedster $15
Passenger Plane $30
Thought they were worth mentioning. I can't recall ever seeing them before.

Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis
I can confirm that my Aldi's in Cleveland, OH was advertising the same sets & prices.
Got the ad a few days ago and kept forgetting to post this.
I have not been back to the store to verify they actually have the sets in stock and the ad says the "sale" technically starts tomorrow.

The City Fire Boat is also on sale for $39.99
You can see the ads on their website, but it says "Special Buys from November 3, 2010"

For what it's worth, I have a physical ad in front of me and my location (Cleveland area) states the "Special Buys begin Sunday, October 31."chicagorando wrote:The City Fire Boat is also on sale for $39.99

Also on sale in Waukesha, WI.
Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis
Thanks I'll have to pick up a few of those knight showdowns. :)
Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis
Some divisions start thier "Special buy" stuff on sunday and others on Wednesday. I work at Aldi and we got quite a bit of each set. The last few years we got Lego for christmas we got maybe 12 of each set, this year we got at least 12 *CASES* of each set.jsnweitzel wrote:For what it's worth, I have a physical ad in front of me and my location (Cleveland area) states the "Special Buys begin Sunday, October 31."chicagorando wrote:The City Fire Boat is also on sale for $39.99

Personally I hope they don't sell well cause on christmas eve I get to mark all the stuff 50% off. I'd love to get a deep sea striker for $7.50 :D

I realize you can only speak for your store but I assume this is likely at all Aldi's? I'll have to mark my calendar.chicagorando wrote:Some divisions start thier "Special buy" stuff on sunday and others on Wednesday. I work at Aldi and we got quite a bit of each set. Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis
no, it should be all stores. Usually christmas eve or the day after christmas, pretty much all toys are marked down to get rid of them. Usually though by then all thats left is crap no one wants, but with as many legos as we got this year it is a possibility.jsnweitzel wrote:I realize you can only speak for your store but I assume this is likely at all Aldi's? Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis
Last year my Aldi's only marked toys 30% off the day after Christmas. I was a little disappointed because I had come to expect 50% off, as that was my experience for several years in a row. If there are Legos left this year, I will still take 30% since they are discounted from MSRP already :D
Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis
they just stop making them.....nothings behind it, they jus didnt make enough in revenue to keep producing it.

Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis
Here are the Markdowns for the Legos at Aldi. Prices are effective sunday Dec 26th:
Freeco Speeder - 12.72
Fire Boat - 26.79
Passenger Plane - 20.09
knights Showdown - 3.34
snowtrooper pack - 6.69
Creator Red car - 10.04
deep sea striker - 10.04
They're only doing 33% off this year. YMMV as to what is available still. I know my store does not have the boat, plane, freeco speeder, and creator sets left. We do have about 20-30 of the other sets though. Also, don't go buy it now and then go back to get the difference, cause you won't get it. They'll only do that if the price is advertised as a lower price. I also have the prices for all the other toys, if anyone wants to know anything just PM me.

Thanks Prozac for the heads up.
I'll have to try and get to Aldis early Sunday, I wouldn't mind a couple of Knight showdown packages.

Well, I won't get there first. Dropped by my local Aldi today just to get the lay of the land and ... no LEGO. :(
Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis

Re: [USA] LEGO at Aldis

Central IL .. I'll have to see if there are any other Aldis in the area and check them out after Christmas. The one I knew about had only a small area of toys and zero LEGO or even shelf tags for LEGO.
