Walmart clearance - Winter 2016/2017

Post by minifigW » Tue Dec 27, 2016 9:35 am

Walmart stores are slowly starting to mark down sets. Discounts range from 25%-50% off. Selection varies by store, as do discounts. YMMV

The holiday polybags have been marked down $3.00 at some stores too.

I have found a NinjaGo polybag at Walmart today I have never seen today. It was $3.97 and had two mini figures. I'll get the number when my cat gets up. :-D

Also found 70800 Getaway Glider from The LEGO movie for $5.

I didn't buy but they had the Jestro vehicle for $35, and the NinjaGo Island for $30. (I bought that last for $26.

I found two of those polybags at my local Walmart before Christmas. Great value even at $3.97

Oh yeah, $4 for some pieces and two mini figures. Not sure if it's clearance or not but I great value. Plus the Wu beard is an expensive piece.

My local store had clearance items near the seasonal section (near Lawn and Garden and Christmas Decor). They were NOT in the regular LEGO aisle or in the "flex" area that I sometimes find random clearance deals.

Found a few LEGO sets at about 25%-30% off but I passed on them all.
Angry Birds pirate ship was $30
Nexo Knight Jestro evil mobile $35
Elves Starlight Inn $21 (and a few others) but nothing exciting.

Scanned several that didn't look like they had a home in the regular LEGO aisle (New Ghostbusters Ecto-1&2), Star Wars Advent calendar and Creator Corner Deli. All were regular price except for the Corner Deli which was reduced to $30.

At a local wal-mart, I found the captain Rex AT-TE on clearance at $59.00. I was happy to pick one up at that price!

My mom found a Friends lighthouse for $19. I already have it but it's such a wonderful set for $20.

Got lucky at one WM

Turbo Tank x1 $50.00 (Was: $109.99)

New Nexo Castle 70323 x1 $60.00 (Was: $119.99) (Left one with damaged box)

Skyras Castle x1 $30.00 (Was: $99.99)

Sky Shark x1 $10.00 (Was: $19.99)

SD Mummy Escape x1 $5.00 (Was: $12.99)

Deep sea scuba scooter x1 $2.00 (Was: $6.99)

2016 SW Advent x2 $20.00 (Was: $39.99) (Left 6 or so. Probably shouldn't have but I didn't want to break the bank. Only clearance item they had good qty of)

Beach Hut x1 $13.50 (Was: $29.99) (Blown seals, but looks to be complete)

41171 x1 $2.00 (Was: $9.99) (Blown bottom. Complete however)

30399 x1 $2.00 (Was: $3.99)

41173 Elves school of Dragons $9.00 (Was: $19.99)

Left several different SW buildable macro-figures for $10.00 each (regularly $20-25), City and friends advent for $20, a TON of destroyed, bags open/ parts obviously missing and way too light sets for $2-6. Oh and a Heartlake news van from 2014 that wouldn't scan. Box resealed and I could hear lose pieces rolling about. Didn't feel bad leaving that.

Don't forget to use brickseek to have an idea of if your Walmart might have something on sale or not.

Are you kidding? I think literally every other post of yours is how you just found a half-dozen sets on 50% clearance or more.

I usually just post the home runs, and not the many, many, strikeouts. ;-)

I seem to have missed a lot of the clearance.
Most Walmarts around me only have Duplo or Bionicle sets; with one or another big set that I don't want or the price is not really big discount.

The only findings I got was one 60047 Police Station for $79, one 31050 Corner Deli for $15, and one 31038 Changing Seasons for $35.

The Walmart inventory is not reliable it says that the store has the stock but I go there and nothing.
Unless they have it in the back somewhere and it's a hazard to ask and employee for assistant.
Even the 31038 set I found it was a surprise because I was not actually looking for that one, it was just there on the shelf.
I wonder if some stores have stock in a pallet in the back? I know some of the Walmarts I went there were still setting up the clearance section.

I'd love a corner deli for $15, fun little set.

I would seriously doubt there is a pallet in the back full of Clearance LEGO. What sometimes happens is sets get lost in the back and that's how the stock is all crazy. But the back of stores are actually very small and don't have room to store things long term. My stock seems to be close to correct.

Walmart I went to yesterday had the 2nd Quintet for $49, the third Quintet with the massive Ant Dude for $59 and a Morro NinjaGo dragon from years ago for $49.

I found a LEGO tower, 1500 pieces #10697 at our Mt. View, Calif. Walmart for $5. It was laying sideways on a bottom shelf so I nudged it thinking it was a smaller set. It turned out to be the $30 set from Black Friday. Sealed and a mint condition box. Scanned it and it came up $5.

I returned and rebought a set from Black Friday and it came to $5. It was within the 90-day return window, but I've had a problem S doing that in the past so YMMV. This is 10697.
