Yeah, but will the Winter set (1 of 2) be available then?

I believe frackbricks may be referring to some flavor of cash-back site link and/or credit card promotion. Some of the currently available offers include ebates.com and fatwallet.com at 2.5%, and upromise.com at 5% (with an additional 5% if you use their branded MasterCard). I'm sure there are plenty of others out there. US credit card companies tend to have a 1% rebate offer in place.

Bonus Holiday Train Set starts on 10/13, so no overlap in deals this year. Train offer till mid-November. No mention of '1 of 2' status in its advertising so perhaps only one Holiday bonus set this year?

Thanks, scatmanjack. How did you find this all out? Is the October calendar out already?

I've used this but you need to go to the "Discover Deals" and search for the offer under toys and navigate through...just buying with the Discover card at checkout isn't enough.

@grommom - help me out with this. At first I'm like Holy Cow! I've been missing out on another 5%!!!! (besides the 5% points equates to, for most of the year)

But you say that you have to navigate to the deal to get it. So is it a temporary offer? Can you only use it once, or repeatedly?

If it's a standing offer that I could use as many times as I like, with the only condition being that I have to navigate to the deal, then I would get myself a Discover card. But it would only be for S@H, and I don't need or really want another card.

Can you or anyone else confirm this info, please?

I've used it twice, if you go to the discover site there's a section called discover deals. It's like ebates in that you go to that page and click shop now and it tracks what you have spent on that transaction. You may only be able to search if you have a card and an account. I actually have to use my husband's card since i don't Hanne a discover card but it works just fine. I think it's an ongoing offer but it could be canceled any time and you can't stack it with ebates, but you still get vip points. I actually think discover is a good card, they also give you a free look at your credit score worth each statement, which i do not get with Amex or visa

Thanks grommom. I didn't understand what ebates was until now. Anything less than 5% wasn't worth my time to find out about. Looks like discover deals used to be called shop discover. They were doing 5% last year and then Lego decided not to participate at the end of the year, but now are back in again. So I think it's worth a shot. Thanks again for the explanation.

So with my legoland card that works out to be 20% off, not bad.. Especially with the PAB clearance some have reported

Why isn't it Double Points for the whole month this year? Isn't that why they call it Bricktober?

probably because they don't need to make it the whole month to sell lots of sets. With Lego at an all time high in popularity, there are only a fraction of the deals compared to what was offered even 5 years ago. Kinda too bad, I would have liked to have got double VIP points together with the Christmas Train. There'll probably be another VIP event around Black Friday.
