Went to Wally yesterday to pick up some odds and ends and saw the "clearance cart" up front with: not 1 not 2 but 8 yes EIGHT 4736 Harry Potter Freeing Dobby sets for $5 each. Needless to say I wiped them out. If only there were more.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

London KY Walmart
Ninja Turtles #79117 Turtle Lair Invasion - 74.00 (Reg. 99.97)
Superheroes #76022 X-Men vs. The Sentinel – $35 (Reg. 49.97) only one in stock
LEGO Movie #70808 Super Cycle Chase – 25.00 (Reg. 49.97)
City Arctic Base Camp 60036 – 45.00 (Reg. 89.97)
Chima: Laval’s Fire Lion 70144 (slight discount... I can't remember)
Sir Fangar’s Saber-tooth Walker 70143 (slight discount... I can't remember)

Corbin KY Walmart
Ultra Agents: Hurricane Heist $35 (retail $69.99) only 1 in stock
Chima: Laval’s Fire Lion 70144 (slight discount... I can't remember)
Sir Fangar’s Saber-tooth Walker 70143 (slight discount... I can't remember)

I only bought the #76022 X-Men vs. The Sentinel. I would love to see the Turtle Lair Invasion drop to 50% off. The Arctic Base Camp was tempting. I love the Super Cycle Chase set but I've already bought 4 at various times at $25 and $15 each.

The Walmart in Hillsborough, NC had both the Turtle Lair Invasion and the Arctic Base Camp in the Clearance section, but both rang up at $74.00. When I brought them to customer service and pointed this out, I got a shrug.

"Don't know. Don't care. Walmart."

Not certain what the issue was that you had... Both items were clearanced at the same price. I am not certain what concern customer service should have had different then what they did. You might have left off some information from your story that we need to understand your point. Found super cycle chase and melting room at amelia island florida walmart for $25 aND $5. I bought them both.

Yeah, you're right on the Turtle Lair. That was priced right. Mea culpa. But the Arctic Base camp should have been less than $74. On the brickseek tool I see that places around town that sold out of it did so for prices including $30, $45, and $60.

The exact exchange was that I brought the arctic set to the Customer Service and explained that it was showing at $74, but in the Clearance section, and that I heard of it being sold in Clearance at other Walmarts for much less. Two associates went back to Clearance, were gone for a while, and came back saying, "This is the correct price." The person at the desk said, "But wasn't there another lady in here last week saying that our prices on these were wrong too?" The other associates shrugged, said, "This is the price" and then walked away.

My understanding is that each store determines their own sales/prices when it comes to clearance/markdowns. Where one store may be willing to take a bigger hit on an item, another store manager may not want to. The Arctic Set is $89.00 full retail, so being in the clearance section at $74 (though not as good of a deal as some stores) doesn't necessarily mean it is an "error" Whatever the item price it scans at, is what the store has it priced at for the moment. (maybe I am not understanding your situation though)

If it is mark at one price with a red tag sticker but scans higher, that would be an error...

Yes, each store manager can discount their clearance items for what they want. Part of it is due to how much they need to clear out and how stubborn they are at holding out on a higher price. Often there is certain sets that everyone is trying to clear out and they will mark them similarly; however, that often times is not the case. It is the exception sales everyone wants to find. I got some sets on clearance a few months back for 75% off when like no other walmarts even had that set discounted. Also, if you bring in your receipt from another walmart where you got a cheaper deal some managers will allow a price match but is based on their discretion.

Oh and if a store is doing well at selling their stock they will often not do great discounts. It is usually when they have no space, can't clear inventory, or just don't have a lot of sales in general that usually do the biggest sales.

I'm fortunate to have 15 walmarts within a 45 mile radius of where I live. Four of these always drop prices on clearance immediately and an often get sets 50% off. Six of the stores will slowly drop clearance by 5-10% every two weeks. Three will clearance around 10-30% off and never budge, and what's worse is they don't clearance all sets at once. They put 1-3 on clearance and wait for them to sale until they put another set on clearance. Several times, I've seen stuff listed as in stock, but they've pulled it to the back in a box until more room is opened up. Now my favorite are the last two. They'll drop clearance like its hot. What every the final value price is will be their only clearance price. For example, Turtle Lair invasion went on clearance and while most stores had it for $74, one had it for $60, and another for $40, but the last two had them for $20 with the one have four on shelf.

Now I have tried several times to get Walmart to match Walmart and have tried different csm's and managers and always get the line "Walmart does not price match Walmart"

I'm starting to understand this, though to me it's a truly terrible user experience. If your brand is built around homogeneity from store to store, then finding out that your friend got something on clearance for 1/4 of what you paid for it "on clearance" is a real turnoff. It forces the customer to question any future prices.

That said, the brickseek inventory checker helped me to find an Arctic set in Raleigh for $45 (It was on New Bern Ave. And they had one more as of yesterday). Without that very niche app I would have given up after searching the couple stores near me. It's just not worth the gas and time to play their managers' little game.

Thanks for the insight into how it works, though.

Looks like walmart do not allow store pick up through the mobile apps anymore if the lego is on sale?

walked into a further away walmart which has always been good to me, but was disappointed to find the following "deals".

mulas mamoth stomper $89.00 (was 89.97)
X men ship $49.00 (was 49.97)
highway cruiser $12.00 (was 12.97)
TMNT Lair $99.00 (was 99.97)
Twinblade adventures $15.00 (was 17.97)

BUT WAIT! THERES MORE!

After confronting a very nice manager about this, she said it was ridiculous and agreed to mark them down further.

So, I walked away with

x1 TMNT lair $60.00
x14 Highway cruiser $7.00
x5 twin blade adventures $10.00
x2 X men ship $30.00

Im a very happy camper right now :D

Great job! You got one of the reasonable managers. She will be shunned by the rest of the tribe, for demonstrating fairness and logic.

I am looking for an Arctic Base Camp but all my local Walmart are still at $74. I am interested in one (or two) at $40 and will gladly pay shipping. Please PM me if you can help out. Thanks.
