Walmart winter/spring clearance 2015

Post by minifigW » Fri Dec 26, 2014 6:43 pm

Found some newly marked down sets at walmart today, (dates on the red tags showed December 26th)
duplo tower $20 (regularly 69.97)
starhopper $29 (regularly 44.88)
TMNT bike $19 (regularly 24.97)
castle forest ambush $5 (regularly 14.97) the best deal here
garmatron $30 (regularly 39.97, i think this was left over from a previous clearance wave, as it had no sticker, but who knows :-D )
Eris eagle interceptor $25 (regularly 34.97, same case as above)
police pursuit $15 (regularly 17.97)
I picked up all of the forest ambushes they had and a starhopper, so i was pretty happy
A lot of other sets had red tags but where not marked down, a sign of things to come perhaps.

Just picked up the Lego Movie Ice Cream Machine for $21, regular $30.

Also, not listed as clearance red tag, but just has a regular price tag is Benny's Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP, it was $80, regular $99.

I saw a random spattering of 20% off discounts at Walmarts (I checked nearly everyone in the ATX area). Typical lackluster stuff. I did find a 70809-1: Lord Business' Evil Lair, which has been out of stock everywhere for awhile. It was $49, and purchased, though the box was beat to hell.

There are about 5 or 6 more left at the Austin Walmart, at I35 & 45/Louis Henna.

Been checking my 3 local walmarts regularly with no success, a few sets 15% off here and there. They barely had anything on the shelf anyways.

At Walmart in Taylor Texas today, I got Corporate Alliance Tank Droid, 1 box for $10. The only other discounted item of note, was two Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian. I have not seen that set on shelves in awhile. They were 20% off.

Store near me has the tank available for store pick up, might be worth the trip to see what price it is in store....

The walmart exclusive raven chima set was also on clearance, $30.00 regularly 39.97 or 34.97, depending on the store

I stopped at the smaller Walmart across from the Del Amo Mall on Hawthorne and the shelf was practically empty. I did see one LotR Pirate ship that scanned $74 and grabbed an AT-AP for $40 since I missed out on the pre black friday $39 deal.

walmart supercenter in irvine CA was decimated by the time i got there, TONS of clearance tags on the shelf where sets had been, but they had marked em down earlier than i anticipated and there was next to nothing left.

chima two pack speedorz $13.00 (regularly 19.97, no one wants chima so that's why they where still there)
police watercraft $3.00 (regularly 3.97)

I took all of the polybags considering there was two figures, so it wasn't a complete waste of time, glad there wasn't a tag or they would have been gone too.

Also noticed there was a tag for the millennium falcon for 99, first time it has been on clearance in my neighborhood.

My local Walmart had literally less than a dozen Lego sets total (Aside from Friends in the girl aisle) when I went on New Years, so I haven't bothered going back. Never seen them that wiped out before, it was weird. Why wouldn't they have new sets stocked at full price at least?

One of my semi local Walmarts is exactly like that, probably less sets on the shelf in fact, waste of time.

My local Wal-Mart had some old sets and a few new clearance ones:

Warg Attack $35
Dol Guldor Ambush $15
An Unexpected Gathering $60
Goblin King Battle $79
Dragon Mountain $35
Vampyre Hearse $35
Starhopper HH87 $21
Hailfire Droid $29
Coast Guard Helicopter 60013 $21

I may go back and get the Coast Guard set, but none of the other ones are all that great.

Wow, great finds!! The star hopper is more than 50% off, not bad... Also, was the hail fire droid the new one??

PS, where are you located?

Thanks,

Ninjago Nindroid Mechdragon 70725 retail $89.99 for $34.50 at my local Wal-mart

It was nowhere near the toy department or area where I normally look for clearance. It was on a rolling cart with Megablok sets and other random items (plus 2 Chima sets). There was at least 5 of Nindroid Mechdragon 70725 left on the cart. It was marked $69.00 but on the side there was a tiny $34.50 sticker on both ends of the box that I almost didn't notice. I asked in Electronics for a price. It rang up $69 but the worker said that they had marked them for the discount price and had to get a manager to override the price which they did with no trouble :-)

It was on a rolling cart in front of the dairy case in the grocery department. Strange place to put a clearance cart of toys. I was tempted to buy 2-3 for this price but only took one since I know very little about the set. At $34.50 for 5 minifigures (2 rare) and 691 pieces I couldn't resist one to buy for parts.
